I believe that people have known that wolves aren't fully carnivorous for a while. On the other hand, a little known fact is that wolves prefer fish to elk/deer/moose/bison and other animals of similar sort. Probably because fishing is an easier method of feeding oneself, and takes up less energy with less risk of being injured.
