Lyall heard them as well but flicked her ears, not knowing what to do.

Zombie coughed a bit, waking up slowly, seeing some of the fire was lower and the smoke was barely there.

Song padded forward, ignoring her siblings tipping at her. She coughed as she encountered smoke for the first time.

Zombie slowly got up and saw a shadow in the distance. It was a pup shadow. He flicked his ears and walked over slowly. The pup coughed a bit, his tail lagging.

Chime sat at the stream outside Sari's loner den. She pinned her ears and dabbed at her reflection.

Song padded up to Zombie, and nosed him. "Are you okay!?"

Chime looked up at her mother. Her ears angled upward slightly.

Sari looked at Chime then raised her head and sniffed the air hungrily.
