Thanks. I just put in a better lightbulb and I got fewer crickets so they won't die as fast and I also got mealworms to see how he likes those. I also noticed that he has lots of...waste..,stuck to his vent. I put home in the water and that helps some put what else could I do because I think he having trouble going to the bathroom. Could that be what's wrong with him?

I know they aren't supposed to be in cold places, but they are fine if you are holding them as you are very warm. They are from a desert and it gets to be like 40 degrees (F) at night so it's ok...
Remember in the wild they also have the choice to go into their warm underground hides if they get too cold ;3
Guh, I can't decide between a timor monitor and a tokay gecko. The monitor's the one I actually want, and they're supposed to be "easy for monitors", so I don't know if I should go with the gecko first to get my feet wet with nasty lizards or if I want a baby timor. Sigh, so many choices.
I'm not sure a tokay would really do anything to prepare you for a monitor. A nasty tokay and nasty monitor act totally different.
