Does it have a grainy feel when you rub it in your fingers? I used to have that before I added movement to the water.
Really? I get that because of the movement of the water. When the bubbles pop from the air rock it splatters up onto the glass and eventually that stuff builds up. I'm not sure what it is but I think it is a build of of the minerals in the water.

I couldn’t count on anyone to stand there behind me
And keep the dogs from dragging me off with them
While I slept you crept in and pulled the rug right out from under me
Then the rain stole away and took the parts that kept me functioning
My heart will be blacker than your eyes when I’m through with you

maaaan today I did a BUNCH of fishwork
My ten gallon was finally ready, so I did the work to move my Glo-Fish Danios from the smaller tank into the big one! They just went CRAAAZY and they adore all the space they have now. That meant I had to clean the small tank out and get my betta fish in there! So I did the work for that, and now Tactical Advantage is sharing his space with Baron Von Snailmeats, both of whom seem quite peaceful together.
Soon, I will be going on a trip to the big petstore and getting a female betta and another Danio or two for my big tank.

Going to petsmart today to get my water tested for ammonia and nitrates, if the bactiria outnumber the toxins I can get a few more guppies.
Anybody have any tips for keeping guppies healthy and happy? I have goldfish and a betta, so I know the general fish stuff, but is there anything and experienced guppy owner could give me tips on? I just want some tips for keeping my fish happy.

As much as I love petsmart sometimes they will lie and tell you everything is fine with your water to sell you more fish. Dont tell them you will buy more fish if its ok. I suggest API liquid master freshwater kit. You get all the stuff necessary to test your water and its more accurate than strips. It does cot more but when you do the math you save money in the long run since you get 800 tests and the bottles don't expire for 2 or 3 years.

yeah, I know most stores will do that but when I went there the with the intention of getting about 20 guppies the guy had a long talk with me about how I shouldn't do that, and then kindly explained how the chemicals in fishtanks works. He even gave me two flyers on keeping tropical fish and urged me to do a water test before I got any more guppies, as I was starting a new tank. All in all I think I'll be ok.

Thanks!

I need help stocking a 30 and 75 gallon tank. I have no idea of what to do for either. I am not sure if I want to do salt or freshwater, planted or not, community or species, or any basics. Any ideas of what to do? I already hve a goldfish tank, a dwarf puffer tank, and a goldfish tank set up so I don't plan on doing another. My only restriction is no coral, because I am going to wait for a reef tank. Any ideas? :)
