Mane & Tail Stripes: White

Hooves: Red
Gender: Female
Personality: Lusa is brave and very independent. She will do whatever it takes to get her way, as she is very stubborn and won't go down without a fight. She knows how to speak her mind and will do so for what she believes is right. She is tough as nails on the outside, but get around that and she can actually be very sweet and friendly. She has a soft spot for foals, but keeps her distance from full-grown stallions and mares.
History: Lusa was always an outcast, though she didn't understand why. The other foals laughed at her, and finally her mother told her to leave. Alone and not sure what to do next, Lusa walked away, casting several glances over her shoulder as she went.
Heartbroken Lusa continued on until she met another mare, who, at first seemed friendly, but soon turned Lusa away. By this time Lusa had learned how to take care of herself, and was used to abandonment.
Time passed, and still Lusa trotted along, hardening toward others as she did. She became steadily more hostile; even though she didn't meet anyone along the way, she was prepared to fight anyone who did cross her path. Then she met a young foal named Kallik, who softened Lusa's heart - at least toward little ones. For a while, the two traveled together, Kallik's mother having been taken by a fire days before. Lusa taught Kallik everything she knew, and for the first time, Lusa was happy to be with someone else.
But it was not to last: humans caught Lusa and Kallik, and they were separated. After putting up a long fight, Lusa broke free, but had no idea what had happened to Kallik. At last she saw her being loaded onto a train not three hundred yards away, and Lusa raced toward it - only to be left in the dust, surrounded by humans for the second time. She nearly escaped and followed the railroad tracks, determined to find her young friend.
Days went by, and while Lusa knew she was behind the train, she wasn't sure if she would be able to find Kallik again. She ran for all she was worth, only slowing to a walk when she felt like her lungs might burst. Finally she caught up to the train, stopped at another trading post, but saw no sign of Kallik. Lusa stood a short distance off, hoping she wouldn't be seen, searching for Kallik. Then she spotted her friend's white pelt as she was brought off the train. Like a raging storm, Lusa charged into the crowd surrounding Kallik, and freeing her, they raced away.
Word has it the two wild mares are still roaming a forest bordering a meadow, hundreds of miles from that trading post. They're doing well, and thanks to Kallik, Lusa is no longer the cold, hostile horse she once was.
