Neira turned her head, keeping her ears trained on the teacher and said,"I'm Neira.But call me Lupa, its the name for a famous female wolf and I liked the sound of it so its been my nickname for a while now."She closed her one hand and then held it out to Coraline with a ice crystal the shape of a kitten in her now open palm.

Coraline looked at the girls hand curiously. "How did you do that?" she asked, amazed at the crystal that appeared in her hand. She didn't particularly like cats, considering she was part bird, but still marveled at the little crystal cat in the girls hand.

"It's one of my abilities.I can control and create ice and fire as well as turn fully or half way into a wolf.Though my ears and tail have always been here, not just when in those forms,"Neira said, a little embarrassed that it had got such reaction.

"That's cool" said Coraline, "all I can do is fly, nothing that exciting, although i do love it."

"Yeah it has its perks.For example I can make icecubes in an instant and when my food is too cold I can heat it with a small flame,"She said.

Neira smiled."You can keep the ice cat.My ice does not melt unless I wish it to or if it gets decently wet with saltwater,"She said.

"Lots of late arrivals today," he said, half to himself. He wondered how all the people with visible mutations had survived. It was easy for him. All he had was powers, not any outside features that gave him away.
