((Aw, Tyrant's so polite and helpful for a first meeting. Hopefully he and Livius can be friends.

))
Livius nearly jumped out of his skin at the sudden appearance of the light dun mare. It sent a zing of pain up his tail and he let out an involuntary yelp.
"OUCH!" Biting his lip to keep himself from betraying any further discomfort, he realized that he recognized her as a mare from Canad's herd, one whose name he regrettably didn't know. He realized further that he had never been formally introduced and winced at the thought; what a way to be introduced. He was certain that he looked like a complete mess, all covered in half-dried sweat, his mane all frayed and his tail...no real hope there. He hadn't noticed, up until now, that one of the thorns had broken his skin and every time he moved further, it dug in, stinging like a yellow jacket. Finally, after gritting his teeth, he turned to address the mare.
"Hello, yes, I'm Livius. Did Dolce send you?" His continued concern for the striped mare pushed all of his own misery from his mind. When Tyrant stepped into view, directly addressing him, Livius could only lay back his ears and look miserable. Another stallion...a rogue stallion...happening on him at a time of weakness
AND with the mare unprotected beside him?
Wonderful...just wonderful... "Look down at my hooves?!" the grullo stallion exclaimed at the Tyrant's helpful comment.
"My hooves are fine, stranger. I know better than to tangle up my hooves. It's my tail I'm concerned about." A frown flitted over his face as he took in the stranger's scarring and wondered how he knew about untangling things.
"You wouldn't know how to untangle a tail though?" His tone had cooled down quite a bit and it sounded almost peacefully apologetic. He knew that he owned the stranger an apology for his behavior, but only after he was freed. The presence of the mare, someone familiar to him, was just soothing enough to stave off the crawling panic still prowling in his stomach.
