Caterina Calandara - Female - 22 - Pine Marten called Lorenzo.

Caterina walked quickly with her hooded head bent down to hide her face. She hadn't had a job in a while, and so she was restless, seeing enemies and threats everywhere. She crossed the street to avoid a truck, and in doing so let her face be seen. She mentally kicked herself for the slip up, and adjusted her hood once more. Her Pine Marten, Lorenzo, was lying around the girl's neck, fast asleep. Caterina reached up with her left hand and stroked the Marten's head with one finger, the fur beneath her skin soothing her. She felt more focused now, like she had a purpose.

(There are no trucks, but there are horse-drawn carriages for long distance trips or transporting shop supplies.)

Damiano continued along, making sure to keep an eye on his hawk. The bird flew ahead and circled someone else in the distance, screeching once. Damiano watched from an alley, hiding as he watched Skye fly above a girl farther down the street. He watched, wondering if she was a threat, but no..he had seen the hood on her head. Another assassin. It seemed like there were too many in Roma. Then what was Skye doing? He whistled to the bird, in an attempt to call him back as Damiano remained hidden. Skye had other plans though, and that was to get the martin wrapped around the girl's neck. Skye dived towards it, seeing it as a fit meal, but he missed slightly, not wanting to hit the girl instead.

Caterina Calandara - Female - 22 - Pine Marten called Lorenzo.

Caterina tensed as the bird flew at her Marten, but missed. She whipped out a knife from her belt, and got ready to throw, sizing up the bird's chest with keen, unblinking eyes. She pulled her hand back, and was about to flick her wrist. Her pulse raced, adrenaline pumping through her veins, heightening her senses. The Marten was crouched on her shoulder now, hissing and spitting at the bird that had nearly claimed his life. He bared his sharp little fangs at the bird, and waited for Caterina to throw her deadly weapon.

Damiano watched with a scowl as the girl pulled out a knife, taking aim at his hawk. Skye still circled but didn't dare dive at the martin again. The girl was in the way and he knew danger when he saw it. Skye screeched at the martin in response to it's hissing. Damiano whistled sharper now, and stepped towards them, reveaing himself as the girl was about to throw her knife at the hawk. "Stop!" he called, his hand on his own knife. Skye flew back towards him and landed on Damiano's shoulder, keeping a keen eye on both the girl and especially the martin on her shoulder. The bird screeched again, and if he ever found that martin alone, he would kill it. "Attack my hawk and I attack your martin," Damiano said, gritting his teeth slightly. D*mn bird, always causing trouble, he thought, not bothering to look at the hawk.

Caterina jumped round to face him and lowered her hand to her side. She put one hand protectively on her Marten's head. "Your darn bird started this, signore. Perhaps you should take more care of your uccello." she said furiously, her features cold and hard. She stepped forwards with one foot, and glared through icy eyes. Idiota. she thought venomously, her hands shaking with rage.

Damiano frowned, glaring at her from under his hood. "It's not my fault if my bird sees prey," he said, quite coldly. "Perhaps you should keep it in a safer spot. A puny thing like that would certainly make a good meal for a hungry hawk," he said, and Skye screeched again, opening his wings slightly now that the girl lowered her weapon. Damiano put one hand in front of the bird, and it stood still, closing his wings again.

Caterina Calandara - Female - 22 - Pine Marten called Lorenzo.

Caterina raised one eyebrow sceptically. "Well my puny Marten here just happens to be very good at climbing up people's trousers when they're asleep. If you get my meaning." she said, not even bothering to be nice. She was furious that that hawk had nearly killed her most prized possession! She took a step forwards, and let Lorenzo scamper off her shoulder and onto the floor, slinking round her ankles with his teeth bared.

Damiano frowned. "If it tries that then my hawk will kill it, and I won't stop him from making a meal out of your martin, either," he scowled. He kept his hand on Skye's chest and the bird tensed as the martin crawled to the ground. He stood where he was as the girl stepped towards him. He wasn't scared of her. "I would be careful where you let that thing run off to, if I move my hand my hawk is going after it like lightning," he said with a small smirk as he watched the martin for a second before turning his cold hard gaze back to the girl.

"You move your hand I move mine." Caterina said, holding up her glinting sliver knife. She aimed it at the bird. A flick of her wrist an it would all be over for that bird. She smiled a false, evil smile, her teeth glinting white. She nudged the marten back with her foot, so that he was behind her. "Your bird won't last long." she added evilly. She would do it, her cold eyes displayed that fact for him to see.

Damiano lowered his hand a tiny bit, as if daring her to try it. Skye moved forward but then turned it's head, hearing something else that caught his attention. The martin was out of reach, anyways. Damiano glanced at the bird as it turned around on his shoulder, and started flying, but not in the direction of the girl and the martin. Instead, it flew behind Damiano and launched itself at an unfortunate rat that happened to scurry across the street. In the same instant, Damiano turned back to glare at the girl, his eyes immediatly turning to the knife she held. Skye killed the rat, and bit into it, looking up to glare at the martin, as if saying he was next.
