maybe it's just I tiny person...
At my nearest zoo, they have Maned wolves, and yes, I'd say that they are as tall as that when they stand up on their hind legs. They're long-legged animals, and not bulky. In my opinion, they're more fox than wolf-like.

Maned Wolves technically are not classified as wolves. I believe they have their own classification:
Although the maned wolf displays many fox-like characteristics, it is not closely related to foxes and lacks the elliptical pupils found in foxes. The maned wolf's evolutionary relationship to the other members of the canid family makes it a unique animal. Electrophoretic studies did not link Chrysocyon with any of the other canids studied. One conclusion of this study is that the maned wolf is the only survivor of the late Pleistocene extinction of the large South American canids. Fossils of the maned wolf from the Holocene and the late Pleistocene have been excavated from the Brazilian Highlands.
They are, however, quite beautiful, aren't they?

supporting wolf hunting =/= hating wolves.
why is it so hard to grasp that?
(not talking to you in particular, moonlight, just everyone.)

I support it for the good of the species.
grey wolves would overpopulate and die of starvation if their numbers are not kept down.
and no, it really isn't like liking someone and supporting their death.
comparing conscious beings to non-conscious beings just doesn't work :L

I posted the form to join a while ago, but I was never added to the list. Since you guys have an "everyone is accepted" policy, then yes. I am a member.
And yes, my signature does say that I'd like to go wolf hunting, and I really would. I'd love to go Grey Wolf hunting, since the fur would make really warm clothes and I'm curious about the taste. That does not mean I hate wolves, in fact they're one of my favorite animals.~WhisperingEchoes wrote:cerulean blue, it's hard to grasp that because you would think if you support wolf hunting...it's like saying you like someone then saying you support them dying.
Yep. I like wolves, but I support them being killed as long as they are not endangered. I only support the humane hunting of the Grey Wolf in areas where its population is not threatened, by the way. People who hunt anything or anywhere else are not hunters, they are poachers. There is a difference.
Yes, I support wolf hunting. However, I also agree that all wolves need to protected, even if it's protected from themselves.
