Shawnee momentarily skittered sideways, her head shook and the whites of her eyes flashed. But Alex quickly stilled her. His yellow eyes gleamed. Briefly, he had felt was was perhaps a dash of sympathy, a smidge of remorse. But not now.
"Some stunt, little lady. How bout you git offa that fancy horse o your's?" Alex shouted back, voice slightly muffled by the bandanna on his face, and still pointing his gun straight at her, "And I'll let you keep 'im. Jest hand over the cash you got an' I won't hurt cha none. But I'll pump you full of iron if ya don't. Sound like a deal?" A viscous smirk flashed across his face, sinister, serious, yet mocking at the same time.

((oops, didn't know that xD))
"now now, you dont know what I've been through today.Do you really want ta start a fight? Now I ain't gonna give you no sob story but heres what happened. My fiancé sliced my back open, I robbed some money from a bartender, an now someone set the place I was gonna rob up in flames! So you listen here," Viletta hit the back of the man's hand with her gun and sent his pistol flying to the ground. "you really don't wanna mess with me today" She growled, holding her pistol in his face. "so jus pick up your weapon and leave me alone"

Emerald kept her face emotionless, save the anger and sternness that was already there- but inside she was over flowing with relief. She wanted to hug Diablo tight around his neck and never let him go. She had him since he was a mere colt, no more than six months old. And she had been only seven when she got him. The two had grown up together and he was the last thing she had. She would do anything to keep him in her clutches. She realized the man was waiting for her to come over and shake his hand, but she stood her ground. She couldn't help but feel uneasy, like something wasn't right. Well of course nothing was right, she was dealing with outlaws. But then again, she was an outlaw too, and she hadn't been caught yet, mostly because of her gut feelings and woman's intuition. So she trusted her gut and stayed in her place, also keeping her gun in her hand as it rested on her thigh. "I'm a lady of many things, a lady of her word is indeed one of those things." she replied with a small nod, also holding out her hand but staying put. "But a lady that doesn't enforce a man's social graces isn't a lady at all. The man comes to the lady, not the other way around."

Bullet was having an extremely hard time watching this scene unfold before him. Every bone in his body told him that this little negotiation was wrong. Billy never negotiated, and Bullets motto had always been "shoot now, ask questions later". It was taking everything in him not to shoot her in cold blood and get this show moving, they didn't have all day.
Bullet, typically a slick smooth talker, and extremely persuasive had lost this round, but he wasn't about to trust this good for nothing lady who had popped out of the blue. He moved the stallion slightly closer towards billy, wanting to tell him what was on his mind before they started heading into town. Billy had to have been off his rocker if he thought they were just going to waltz into town with her, and she just purchase them a horse then be on their way. She was too smart for that. She proably had the sheriff waiting for them upon arrival and that made him nervous. No way in hell he was rotting in a cell before his hanging. No. there wasn't going to be a hanging.

Alex flicked out his knife deftly and and held it at her jugular. His yellow gaze gleamed with a cold, ruthless light, that was at the same time calm. He was not sure why, but he found her green eyes odd. He could have thought of them as pretty, as he had at the store, but now they were practically shooting fire at him. And he didn't blame her.
"That would be ill-thinkin' of you, ma'am. Pull that trigger and this here knife will go right through yor neck. Now, seems though you want t' do this the hard way round. I will give you one more chance. Step away from yor horse an drop yer gun." Alex hissed his last words, but otherwise seemed relaxed. He looked as if he were talking about the weather or the price of corn seed, not death threats.

"Ah, well then," said Black Billy, bowing slightly in the saddle, "I'm afraid we're going to have to part ways without an agreement. You see, I've got a bit of a social conundrum when it comes to handshakes." Waving in Bullet's general direction, he added, "My man here's like to accidentally shoot somebody if he gets nervous about my safety, and we certainly can't have that." Pulling up gently on Thunder's reins, he back her up and said, "Good day to you, ma'am, and good luck on your travels, wherever you might be headed. If you're heading east we'll head west; assuming, of course, that we all have the good graces not to shoot each other in the backs once we've turned away." He wasn't going to be the first to leave, of course; he wasn't stupid, and no matter how dull this girl might seem even the simple ones got the occasional notion to kill something they didn't like. He wasn't about to let that happen, not to himself and certainly not to his horse. He tipped his hat to her in a nonchalant fashion that was reminiscent of something he had once done, back when he was something of a gentleman. Thunder pawed at the ground and blew out of her nose, not liking all this standing around and talking. Black Billy patted her neck soothingly, and a shape of a plan began to form in his mind. He had the feeling that he had gotten the better of the situation, even though he and Bullet hadn't actually gotten anything out of the holdup. For one thing, he now had valuable information. For another, he would get a good laugh out of the stories that would come from this. He might even get a cameo in a newspaper somewhere; he could just see the headlines now- The Respectable Rogue of the Wild West or some such.

Viletta gave a wicked grin, "Hows about you jus' leave? I've been sliced open before, I wouldn' be any weaker if ya stabbed me." She put her pistol in her back pocket and had Chestnut move a bit so that she was away from the knife. "ya know, with all yer sweet talking, I am a bit surprised why you ain't actin like a gentlemen."

Emerald narrowed her eyes in suspicion but sat up a little taller in her saddle. "Well, than this is goodbye, Mr. Hooligan." she said shortly, still holding her ground. A cold trickle of sweat dripped down her back in the hot California sun, and mentally she was begging for a breeze. But she stayed. She didn't trust Billy and Bullet one bit and she wasn't about to let her guard down. She wasn't about to make some stupid mistake and get shot in the back and let Diablo over to these strangers. No way. They may think she was stupid, and Emerald is not the smartest girl in the world, but she was smart enough to not get fooled by Billy.

Black Billy grinned when he saw what the woman was doing. She was uncomfortable- hell, who wouldn't be? And that amused him quite a lot. "I'm sorry, miss, but I ain't gonna be the first ta turn my back." He tugged a knot out of Thunder's mane and listened for a moment to the silence of the Californian desert, hearing some ways off the bark of a coyote. For a moment he wondered what such a creature was doing out during the day; those wild dogs were normally night hunters. "In fact," he added, turning his attention back to the woman, "We might just have to sit out here all day if neither of us leaves first." He had already promised not to rob her, but forcing the girl to sit uncomfortably in the heat that he was well adapted to was fair compensation. He still wanted her horse, of course, but he could wait. A young stallion like that, strong, maybe not with a lot of stamina but he could easily fix that. He'd get the handsome young thing sooner or later, and he was a patient man. Mostly. Tipping his hat forwards to shield his face from the sun, he thought up a quick solution. "Here," he said, "What do you say you hand over your gun? That way, Me and my man here can ride away without worrying that we'll get shot in the back, and you can use the money that you were going to buy me a horse with to purchase a new one in the next town over." It seemed to him a perfect fix- he got away safe, and Bullet would get a new gun.

Emerald smirked. "Well neither am I. I've dealed with men like you before, I know exactly what you're up to." she said amused. She just sat there, the smug smirk playing on her lips and she sat back in her saddle and day dreamed, but never once was her guard down. Her eyes were always fixated on the two men in front of her, cold and calculating. She smirked a little bigger and then laughed when he suggested she give her gun over. "Are you kidding me? Do you think I'm stupid?" she asked laughing. "There ain't no way in hell I'll give you my gun. You'll just turn around and shoot me with it." She was serious now. "And that ain't gunna happen, not on my watch."

"Well," suggested Black Billy, "You could close your eyes. I told you I wasn't about to shoot you, didn't I? And I ain't about to go back on my word." He paused, then added, "By the way, I do think that you're stupid. And before you get mad, stop. Just- take a second and use your brain. What good would killing you do me? I'd get your horse. Okay, sure. But he'd be awful and difficult because a horse never really gets over seeing their old master- or mistress, in your case- get killed in front of them. Believe me. I've tried it. So, no point there. How about your provisions? Well, no, because you offered them and I gave them back, didn't I? How about your money. Well, we both know that you haven't got a single cent on you. Money? Don't be daft. You, riding out here in the desert, alone, no. You're running from something. You wouldn't have brought more than what you thought you needed, and from the looks of you money isn't one of those things you worry about on a daily basis. There's nothing you have that I want. So go on, get along with you before the sun goes down and the really bad boys come out to play."
