Oh yes, you heard right, this roleplay is based off of the Dragonriders of Pern books by Anne McCaffrey. I do love those books, and I expect if you read the title, clicked on it, and came here, that you were at least somewhat interested in this. But there are a few things that you must know about this roleplay.
First off, while it is based around the Weyrs, Holds, Crafts, Culture, and of course the dragons of Pern, we will not be following any specific path of events that happens in any of the books. There will be dragons, firelizards, full Weyrs, and threadfall, but we will not be using events such as the exile of the Oldtimers, or canon characters such as Lessa or F'lar. The majority of roleplaying will take place in Benden Weyr, but just in case you are wondering, no your characters may not have any connection to any of the canon characters that were there in the books. And unlike in The White Dragon, in roleplay Benden, firelizards are accepted as long as they are banded with thier craft, weyr, or hold colors.
Second thing, while you can play Lord Holders and Craftmasters, I expect you to play other characters as well. You MUST PM me if you want any noted positions on the character list.
Third and finally, I know this may seem like elementary to many roleplayers, but please remember to read everything I have put up on the front page. All of it. Every last word.

Starbase Typhon is a roleplay run by me, off site. It is Star Trek based (but not the new movies, as you will see) and it definetly needs people who are willing to be active, write with great grammar, and of course, are semi-literate or above. Format is play by Nova, which involves multi-person posts that are a different way of doing things that here of CS. But it's lots of fun, and we need long term people who will help us complete our missions. As the commanding officer of Typhon, I invite anyone who would like to give it a try to please apply! Rules
1. You must completely fill out the forms, please remove anything in ((these)).
2. It is highly recommmended that you have read Dragonflight and Dragonquest at the very least. More is perfered, and if you haven't read those two, I would like you to PM me before posting your forms no matter what your characters are going to be.
3. I am not going to put a line/word/paragraph limit on this unless you make me, but I do expect good posts out of you people. If your post is a shorty, it had better be the best short post I have ever seen. Otherwise you will make me put a line limit here. Got WB? Tell us so and wait to post until you can squeeze something good out of your brain.
4. You may not play canon characters. You may not interact with canon characters. Your characters may not have anything to do with canon characters. Period. No exceptions.
5. Don't fight out of character. In character, fights are fun, but out of character they are rude and impolite. Nobody likes out of character fighting.
6. Romance must be kept PG-13. Don't make me warn you on this. I am currently devising a system to deal with the winners of mating flights, when I am done with that it will go below.
7. I encourage you to make weyrlings, children, women of the lower caverns, and dragon riders that aren't those big Bronzes and Golds. Hold boys and girls, people of assorted crafts, and servants. Give me variety! Bronzes, Golds, Lord Holders, and Craftmasters will all be reserved for those special people who are very good roleplayers. You want one, PM me and hope I find you worthy. The specified spots will be limited in numbers based on how many other places are filled.
8. Please play lots of characters. We want a nice full weyr to keep thread out of the ground here on Pern! I don't really care if you keep all of them active at once, as long as when they are needed you play them well. Someone has nothing to do any you've got a little hold boy doing who knows what, I expect you to offer to have that little hold boy strike up a conversation.
9. I will probably add more rules as I think of them, so check back frequently.

Do not worry about the first post of your forms, I can nearly guarantee that there will be something you have missed, have questions about, or haven't put enough in for. I am quite picky about what characters I accept into my roleplays, but you will find if you stick with me through the part where I ask you kindly to edit things into your form and help with corrections, that it isn't as hard as I make it sound. Who knows, maybe you will get right on the first time. But don't be offended if you don't.

Starbase Typhon is a roleplay run by me, off site. It is Star Trek based (but not the new movies, as you will see) and it definetly needs people who are willing to be active, write with great grammar, and of course, are semi-literate or above. Format is play by Nova, which involves multi-person posts that are a different way of doing things that here of CS. But it's lots of fun, and we need long term people who will help us complete our missions. As the commanding officer of Typhon, I invite anyone who would like to give it a try to please apply! (Warning that quality of applications is strictly judged. Very strictly judged.) The link is in the image.
