Moonkit sat in the nursery, bored as a dead badger.

Brookfeather rummaged through her supplies. "Wait!" She said to the leaving border patrol. "When you leave, look for these leaves. They're everywhere, so I need them before this frost settles next sunhigh." She told them, showing them the large leaves of borage.

Thornkit sat in the nursery with Moonkit as bored as could be. She wanted to do something useful, something only she could do! But what? "What if I try helping the medicine cat?" But then she shook her head. "Nah she has Pricklepaw for that, plus I don't think I'd be helpful that way." The brown she-cat got to her paws and padded out of the nursery. If she was going to be bored she'd rather be somewhere else than in there. She sat down not sure where to be.

Shrewpaw noticed the irritated looks being thrown his way and he flicked his ears to show he didn't care. Least of all what other cats thought about him. His orange eyes trailed after his mentor, Bandedowl, but he made no move to go join the patrol. Instead the grey apprentice decided to do something else. Padding out of camp, he picked up his pace as he breathed in the warm scent of oak and pines. He loved the forest. It was the greatest place for him. Moving easily through the brambles that tried to tugg at him fur, he padded easily towards the river.

Bloodpaw pounced a leaf, even though it isn't the best target. He spitted it out, then saw the kit pad out of the Nursery and sighed. he knew not to play with a kit, he would never become deputy if he did that! He walked over to her, "Hey Thornkit, what ya up to?" He asked, bored. His eyes were sliding from his boredom and his tail didn't have that usually childish flick to it.

Thornkit glanced up at Bloodpaw before sighing. "Nothing just being bored. Might head out towards the river if I could," she gazed wistfully out of the camp entrance before sighing again. "You're lucky you get to go out and have some fun. I'm stuck here with Moonkit and all we ever get to do is just be bored all day."

Bloodpaw's tail had that childish flick, "How about you and I go down to the river?" He asked, smiling wide, "It would be so much fun to be down there with someone!" He meowed, trying not to sound to much like a kit as he talked. A smile was planted on his face, "So gonna come with me?"

Ajax

The loner became fully aware of the gray cat that approached the river, although the cat seemed unaware of him. Well, maybe there are cats in the forest, he thought as he curiously stared at the cat near the river with intent blue eyes. I doubt that the cat would attack if I said a friendly hello! Maybe he's just lonely and looking around for a friend! I should introduce myself! Ajax didn't bother thinking about the consequences that may follow, as he had managed to convince himself to there were no violent, wild cats in the forest.

"Hi!" Ajax meowed loudly as he bounded up to the cat. He stopped just in front of the cat. "What are you doing out here?"

Thornkit looked up in surprise. "You'd take me?" Surprise evident on her features. Then she grinned knowing she'd never get another chance like this again. "Sure!" She mewed her tail lashing behind her and her light brown eyes bright. "C'mon! Let's go before we get caught!" she whispered softly. Excitment got the better of her and her judgement as she twirled on her back paws.

Shrewpaw looked up startled when he spotted the intruder. His fur soon became bristled when he noticed the friendly way the tom was looking at him. He didn't seem like he was trying to make trouble. "I'm patrolling my territory" He bit out. "Who are you?" Shrewpaw asked gruffly, hoping to disguise how young he was, and to make a silent judgement on his cat. Afterall this is an intruder.

Bloodpaw smiled, running out. He darted, but not to fast so he wouldn't be heard. Spottedflower didn't notice him as he stopped at a tree. He motioned for the kit to follow him with a flick of his tail, Finally! Someone to play with! He squealed in his mind.
