"Interesting. But why is the board game wet?" Nick asked.

[Black Velvet]

River rolled her eyes, teasing him, "Picky, picky... do you want a share of the food or not?"

[Actually.A.Herondale]

"Of course." Nick said.

[Black Velvet]

"Exactly... and wet food is better than no food," River walked over to the table and pulled a few old chairs up to it. "Now, I'll prepare this; you two can chat." She went into the small cellar, which she had fixed up enough to use as a kitchen, and began putting the food onto plates and preparing the salads mix- which she took out and replaced with a new one each week so she wouldn't be left with only moldy foods in her secret storage area.

Nick stretched, and yawned a little.

Phil got up and walked to the run down room that was once a clean bathroom.

Lily sat uncomfortably on a stool by the door, unsure what to do.

Rose prepared the salad and spread some fake butter- a treat she had saved for such an occassion- on thick slices of bread, which she arranged on a cracked plate. She mixed the salad in a plastic bowl, added a container of mini tomatoes she had stolen the day before, and collected four cracked ceramic bowls. Then River began to search for an extra mug for the visitor.

Nick looked at her. "So...."

[Black Velvet]

"How long have you lived with the others?", Lily asked curiously. She felt much more at ease with just Nick, for some reason.

[Actually.A.Herondale]

"For two years, at least." Nick said. "Though I've known Phil my whole life."

[Black Velvet]

"Oh... is he your brother?", Lily asked, comfortable with the conversation.

Rose was almost ready with the salad, bread, and water, but she still couldn`t find a third cup.
