Feeling both interested and confident, the small ivory fae, watched the new comer become acquainted with her sub-alpha. Thinking this was going well, Verity was just about to take her leave until the sound of her name being called out caught her attention. That confidence she felt slipped out of her grasp and she laid her ears against her crown disappointed in herself for being detected. Lifting her body from the ground, the ivory fae looked forward and saw her sub-alpha make eye contact with her.

Even though she returned Periculum's eye contact, her head did lower slightly till it leveled with the faes shoulders. Verity came out her hiding spot, coming into plan view of everyone. As she made her way forward, she examined the new fae of the pack then sat down between her sub-alpha and pack friend.

Inferno.

♕ Let's set this whole word on ғɪʀᴇ
_______________________________________________________

After Inferno's little boredom attack, the large fae began to walk back to camp. It was better than staying out here in the middle of the territory and doing nothing. Of course she knew that there would be nothing to do at camp either, but at least she could check on the prey pile and see if there was any hunting that needed to be attended to. She wasn't the best hunter out there, due to her bulky size, and she couldn't jump as easily as other wolves because of her hind leg. But she still would need something to do, and trying to hunt would be better than sitting around and waiting for something exciting to happen. This just wasn't an exciting pack, and in her opinion there was nothing good to do. In her old pack, at least her father made there be some action. But this wasn't her old pack, and there was no civil war within the pack itself. So she would just have to deal with the fact that no all packs were the same, and had the same amount of drama, and action. In all truth Inferno hadn't even wanted to join a pack, it was all because her brother had made her promise that she would. Had she not made that promise to him before he was killed, she would have continued to be a loner. Maybe even look for a home close by the alps and mountains. She missed her old home dearly, this forest life was not the life for her.

As she made her way back to camp she saw Canaan the omega. There was no surprise why he was at his rank. He was a nut job, a crack. There was something seriously wrong in that mutt's head, she didn't even know why he was still alowed to be anywhere close to the pack grounds. Had he been in her old pack, they would have thrown him off a cliff for being considered insane, either that or they would banish him and his family into the unknown. Personally she figured the first option was much better. She had seen it happen once, with a wolf who thought that he could talk to the hunters. He ended up getting a pack member killed, and then was kicked off the side of the alp. She knew that this pack had more humane laws, and that they just sent them to a lower rank. There were so many differences between her old pack and this one, that she couldn't count.

"Oh hey look, it's the insane howler." Inferno snickered as she looked at Canaan, "having fun loosing brain cells are we?" She laughed as she looked at the lower ranking wolf. Her tone was all sarcasm, though it wasn't like that was all that odd. She was someone that would mock and humilate for the fun of it. She worked in a witty and sometimes even cruel way. She decided that maybe going for a fail of a hunting trip could wait until later, at least until she was done making fun of the omega. "Or are you smart enough to realize that, that isn't a good way to spend your time?" She then shook her head, "oh wait, that's a stupid question, you're not smart enough to realize that. Actually are you even smart enough to com-phre-end - how - I - am - talk - ing - to - you?" She chopped up her speaking and said it very slow, as if she was talking to a mouse.

It wasn't long before the bushes started to rustle once more. He sensed that it wasn't the spies, they would never dare to return to camp that quickly. Unless they brought reinforcements. His amber eyes narrowed as a shadowy form entered camp. He smelled her before he saw her, the unmistakable scent of one of his pack. Inferno, to be more exact. He ran his tongue along his fangs, flattening his ears as she stepped into the clearing. She was one of the more arrogant of the wolves, and one who believed him to be insane. He snapped his jaws at her arrival, preparing himself for another one of her degradings. She was hardly a threat to him, though she liked to think she was. Typical of a wolf of higher rank. Disputants were often a little more sympathetic to his position, not that he wanted their pity. It was wolves like Inferno that make his fur bristle. She was more of an outsider than he, yet she was convinced she held more of a place in the pack. If it were up to him, she'd be the one in his position. He could just imagine her groveling at the feet of even the lowliest of wolves in the pack. He would certainly make sure she was the omega of the omegas.

"Oh hey look, it's the insane howler."

He slid to his belly, but his tail was still slightly pricked up at the tip. He might not like her, but he was still required to be submissive.

    "Inferno, a real treat."

"having fun losing brain cells are we?"

    "Look who's talking." He chuckled.
"Of course, your Majesty." He replied as politely as he could manage, his upper lip twitching in contempt.

"Or are you smart enough to realize that, that isn't a good way to spend your time? Oh wait, that's a stupid question, you're not smart enough to realize that. Actually are you even smart enough to com-phre-end - how - I - am - talk - ing - to - you?"

Frustratingly typical. They assumed he was an idiot, the curse of his abilities. He simply saw what they could not, and defended them from it. If it weren't for him, the pack would be a pile of bones by now. He could have just sat back and let the pack of enemy wolves tear them to pieces as they slept, but he hadn't. Did he get any respect for that? No. Not so much as a thank you.

"Of course I can understand you," he snarled, "I'm not daft."
"Careful Canaan, I heard she has a temper."
"She certainly has an attitude problem." He muttered under his breath.
"Shh! She's a saboteur! She might tell Ransom on you!" He laughed, settling his head between his paws. No use causing a fight, that would only get both of them injured and the camp would surely be attacked. The spies came back almost daily, they would notice if he had even the slightest limp.

"So, Inferno, to what do I owe the pleasure? Surely you have a reason that you're bothering with an omega. "

Legacy smiled at Nada, looking at Periculum when he spoke. Nodding at his instructions, Legacy dipped her head in respect to the sub-alpha as he began to leave. "See you later, Periculum," she called out to him as he left. Looking back at Nada, then Verity, Legacy smiled. "Nada, I would like for you to meet Verity, my friend. Verity, meet Nada," the ivory she-wolf introduced her. "I suppose I should take you back to Ransom now, Nada. I'm sure you're tired," she said.

With that, Legacy turned and began padding towards the camp. "It's not far from here," she called over her shoulder towards Nada. Legacy kept her pace slow so Nada could keep up easily. Already, she had forgotten about the earlier events with the Sins. The feeling of guilt had been put away for now, which would surely be reawakened soon enough.

After a short time, they arrived in camp and Legacy kept to Nada's side in case one of the wolves decided to attack the newcomer, in fear of her being an enemy. Now that the Sins were back, everything would be tense and it would be hard to trust any newcomer. Legacy watched everyone. She was about to pass Canaan and Inferno, when she heard what was going on. Sighing, Legacy shook her head. "Inferno, leave Canaan alone. Ransom won't be happy," she said, as she walked past with Nada, before stepping into her brother's den. "I'm back," she said, sitting down in a corner near the entrance. "There's someone here who wishes to join the pack. She came from the high mountains," Legacy told her brother, who nodded.

Inferno.

♕ Let's set this whole word on ғɪʀᴇ
_______________________________________________________

Inferno always had a kick when she would speak or even be around Canaan, he was so hilarious it was unreal. His insanity was easily something that she enjoyed even though it other wolves that could be seen as something totally incentive and just down right wrong. But Inferno was too stubborn to let other wolves interfere with her little probing at the hallucinating mutt. She would do what she liked, and the only wolves that could talk down on her were the alphas, and they weren’t even with her right here. So it didn’t really matter. Besides even if the alphas told her to stop, she’d go back at it later. It was a surprise that she wasn’t an omega, but she knew that her brutality and strength were quite useful in war, and so that’s why she was still at the rank she was at. At least that’s what she figured, she didn’t have much conversation with either of the alpha often, but she knew some of the others might have ratted her out in the past from her apparently ‘arrogant’ jokes and probes. The alpha’s could kiss her tail for all that she cared mentally, the only reason she following them physically was so that she could continue to be in this mutt infestation of a place. Oh well, best not complain about it, or that was her motto. If she was going to be living with these dogs she would have to be able to sink to their level.

Before she managed to respond to Canaan she heard Legacy, she rolled her eyes. “Keep on walking, and mind your own business. I couldn’t care less what Ransom thinks.” It was the truth, and what she had been thinking in her mind. Maybe it was unwise to say it out loud, but honestly, right now she was having too much of a blast to care.

As she turned back to Canaan she looked at him with a sneer. “Of course I have a reason for talking with you. If I didn’t I would be out, doing something other than this. But alas my reason is simple, I have grown bored lately, this pack is nothing but a bunch of dogs, and when drama happens, it’s so... melodramatic.” The sneer was still dominant on her face. “So anyways, I knew you were a bucket of entertainment that is just waiting to be used. So I figured what better way to spend my time than getting a laugh or two from watching your insanity uncurl.”

You could almost seen the preempted laughter on her face, as if the thought of talking to the omega was already the funniest thing in the world. Not that it wasn’t, Inferno always enjoyed talking to those with a less developed brain than hers, and what she meant by that was, well - all males. This male was just more hilarious due to the fact that it had probably was dropped on his head as a pup. “So tell me Canaan, what little funn- I mean dramatic things have you done lately to uhm, how did it go, protect the pack was it? Aren’t you a little night owl, who stays awake in the night? What little magical things do you see in the dark?” Inferno was holding back an giant laugh as it was. She tried to make her voice sound as concerned as possible, but anyone, even the world’s dumbest would be able to see that it was all sarcasm. The question stood though, as she wanted to see what kind of hilarious answers she could get from him.

((Oh my... I have so much to reply to, and as I write this, more keeps coming in! And, you guys forgot Benathorn's post! I'll try to tie it in as well...))

Baruch Spinoza wrote:Fear cannot
be without
hope nor
hope without
fear.
Nada nods gratefully to Periculum, though there is no small amount of relief in her at his acceptance as well. There is something in his words that tickles her curiosity, and natters at the edge of her mind, but it lingers just out of reach. Strong of heart... Now what would make him say something like that? "Thank you very much for you kind words, Periculum. I'm excited to meet Ransom, and the rest of the pack. My poor sore pads and I are very grateful for your kindness." She dips her head a bit, respectful once more before he turns to leave.

It is then that she finally catches sight of Verity, rising up from her hiding place. Nada can't help but look on with a bit of admiration, as the lean wolf had been able to hide so completely despite the disadvantage of her white pelt. As a matter of fact, that white pelt is so striking and in her mind it is so remarkable that she at first assumes the feas are sisters, but as Verity approaches, Nada realizes that she is much older, perhaps twice her own age. Fascinating! I wonder if such snowy coats are common here? Does it snow a lot here? I would have thought such a bright pelt would make it difficult to hunt, but that is obviously not the case. Keeping all her questions to herself at the moment, she files them away to be more closely examined later when she has time to think. Though the newcomer does not speak at first, Nada still smiles warmly too her as she approaches before listening to Legacy's introduction. "Verity... Another lovely name. Mean's truth, does it not?" Taking a moment then to look over the pair of white wolves in front of her, Nada can't help but say more. "Truth and Legacy, what a pair the two of you make! Shining pelts in a dark forest... Both carrying names of things we can't forget. Thank you both as well for your warm welcome!"

Nada then nods in agreement as Legacy mentions her weariness and gladly turns to follow after her as she moves into the trees. Though she aches and dearly wishes to do nothing more than lay in the sun and lick her abused pads, Nada easily falls in step with the others, her legs having moved for so long follow the earth without a second thought and she once again finds her mind drifting into thoughts of what the others, including Ransom will be like. Will he be of such a light pelt as Legacy and Verity? And just what are the dens like? I doubt it would be a willow stand like back home, not with so many trees... They have only travelled for about a quarter of a mile when the sound of a distant howl tears through Nada's ears, causing her to stumble. She comes to a stop then, her blood running cold and fear rising up in her chest threatening to choke her. What on earth was that? The sound had been chilling, almost otherworldly in it's nature and yet... And yet it was seductive. As thought it was for her, and her alone. Something inside her rises up, kicking and pulling her to follow that sound to it's source. Some deep seated conviction that tries to force her to go, as thought it is what she was meant to do.

Staring fixedly off in the direction of the call, she takes one step in that direction and then stops again to glance behind. Her new friends and the promise of rest and comfort are disappearing into the trees, and if it weren't for their bright coats they might have been lost already. To follow Truth and Destiny... The part of her that was a young pup, born in a thicket to this world along, who had a brother that was lost and who's feet have traveled so many miles rallies up inside her then. Swatting away the foreign urge that threatens to overwhelm her. No... NO. I'm NOT going. I just got here, and I'm not going back out into the unknown already! She shakes her fur, cradling the childish thoughts and letting them soothe her as the other half of her fights back, urging her to call back. Unlike the sin who beckons, Nadezhda is her own master and it is her choice as to meet her fate. Not fully aware of just what she has become; how the hidden strengths in her have met, risen to combat this dark hand that creeps over the earth; Nada knows beyond a doubt that some day she must meet the challenge that calls to her. But today will not be that day.

Though the desire is strong, the wolf in her finally prevails, and Nada turns and bolts after the others. Easily catching up to them as they have set an easy pace, she soon finds herself once again loping next to them. The howl has disturbed her to the core, and she is now quiet, her ears back and tail low behind her as they enter camp. She takes notice of how the pack has chosen their shelter carefully, and there are dens dug into the soft earth, with trees or heavy rocks above them to keep out the rain. Perhaps this posture is a happy coincidence, as the first two wolves they come across seem to be the unlikely pairing of alpha and omega. As Nada looks in on the intimidating she-wolf who seems to be intent on tormenting a male who holds the posture of an omega, she has no doubt that the fea could easily be an alpha in her own right and one would be wise to show respect. Oh my... That's not Ransom's mate is it? She is not one to reckoned with. She looks over each of them in turn as Legacy scolds them, seeming to take no more heed of the large female than she would any other wolf, before disappearing into a den.

Not having been formerly introduced to the two, Nada stands a bit uneasily, shifting her weight from one paw to another as she waits for Legacy to reappear. However, it seems as though neither one are intent on taking it upon themselves to investigate her presence further, and she lets out a quiet sigh of relief as the two return to tormenting one another.

Hubris

"I am the origin of all that is evil in this world but it is you who invites me into your soul
and only you are to blame for your partake of the seven sins." ~ Pride

Pride

__________________________________________________________

Hubris waited and listened for a reply but none came as silence overtook him. It seemed the presence had refused him if not unwillingly at first. He wondered if the other sins had felt it, knew that it was not your normal sin but the entity of hope itself. He would guess not as he moved directly into the packs territory. He would make no secret of his presence here as his ember hued eyes died in and out while staring in the direction of camp. He had time to spare and an enormous amount of patience as the trees grew thick around him and the sun's rays were obscured by the pale mist which followed him. He had never felt purpose before...to actually decide of his own accord what he wished to do and to actually have the will to do so was a new feeling to him. Of course he would follow his master's wishes but right now he was consciously making his own decisions on what to do next as the master's voice seemed to grow ever faint as he drew closer to the pack. It seemed this hope gave him his peace of mind the closer he was, something his master must surely hate but he could not hear. Hubris stopped, he would go no closer as his eyes could see the pack in the distance. Why was he so curious? Surely he should not care of such things but he knew that the downfall of this pack was in connection to this hope and the seven sins. No matter how much he wished to diverge from his path, Hubris was forever bound to follow his sin, he was pride and pride was origin of all sin. Maybe another meeting with Eden was in order. The fea was always fun to mess with but he needed to know what was happening in this forest and to him.

Eden

"If we do not learn to forgive ourselves and accept our sins as apart of who we are
then our very being will be swallowed by the sins we commit." ~ Eden

Sub-Alpha

__________________________________________________________

Eden made it back to the pack camp as the sub-alpha shook her timber fur. She had been out all day but so much had transpired that little could be done afterwards. First the fight that had broken out with the sins then Hubris breaking it up, that was odd for him to do but his motives were always vague to begin with. Padding onward she flicked her ears towards the sound of laughter that was not kind to another. It seemed Inferno was taking it upon herself to amuse her boredom with the omega Canaan, she shook her head, Canaan was indeed not always right in the head but that gave Inferno no right to pick on him. Making her way over with tail erect and a dominate stance, she found the two as her eyes examined the situation "You should not incessantly torment Canaan as such Inferno. He may be an omega but it is my duty to take care of everyone in the pack even from ourselves." Eden gave the she-wolf a steady soft amber gaze, she was not trying to be dominate over the two, just simply fixing the situation that was at hand. "Besides we have much bigger things to attend to. The seven sins have decided to make our home theirs and I suggest we all be on our guard."

The large fae looked to them both, Inferno was just trying to amuse herself like she always did with those of lesser minds but Canaan was a poor subject to be testing this with. Even though the omega had many things wrong with him he was still her responsibility to protect as she turned to Inferno "I'm sure our pack ways must be quite different for you. Was your pack really that much different?" Eden's voice carried the question as she tried to relieve tensions and clear the air of hostility. She was truthfully curious about Inferno's origins however and looked to her with calm questionable eyes before the same presence as before had made it's way directly into camp. Eden was surprised to see a young fae come gallivanting into camp with an expression of happiness across her face. Their was something definitely different about this wolf as Eden continued to stare at this newcomer's presence.

"Inferno, leave Canaan alone. Ransom won't be happy,"

Canaan's tail twitched, a lick of bitterness settled in his throat. Legacy meant well, but he hardly needed her help. Inferno still had her dubious smirk plastered across her muzzle, and it was evident she was enjoying herself far too much to stop now.

“Keep on walking, and mind your own business. I couldn’t care less what Ransom thinks.”

"Yes, because Inferno could run the whole pack by herself."
He pulled his lips into a smile, flashing her a glance. Ransom would be infuriated to hear her say something so foolish. He wouldn't be surprised to find her on her own in a few moons if she didn't keep her mouth shut. In fact, she might be better off without a muzzle to begin with, he was growing tired of her maniacal grin.

“Of course I have a reason for talking with you. If I didn’t I would be out, doing something other than this. But alas my reason is simple, I have grown bored lately, this pack is nothing but a bunch of dogs, and when drama happens, it’s so... melodramatic.”

He sighed, swishing his tail along the dirt behind him.
"She has a reason to talk to you, she's too lazy to go hunting for the pack."
"So I'm not melodramatic?" He rolled his eyes, "I'm flattered."
"Nonsense Canaan, you should be honored to be graced with her presence."

“So anyways, I knew you were a bucket of entertainment that is just waiting to be used. So I figured what better way to spend my time than getting a laugh or two from watching your insanity uncurl.”

"Gee, Canaan, if I didn't know her better I'd say she likes you. A bucket of entertainment, eh?"
"Well, I hope I'm being 'insane' enough for you." He murmured, looking past her hulking frame and into the trees. The spies could return any moment, and he was beginning to think they'd sent Inferno as a distraction for him. Camp activity was beginning to pick up, and his frayed nerves finally began to settle a bit.

“So tell me Canaan, what little funn- I mean dramatic things have you done lately to uhm, how did it go, protect the pack was it? Aren’t you a little night owl, who stays awake in the night? What little magical things do you see in the dark?”

He gave a low growl. "It's not my fault you're blind as a bat. Maybe your vision is as slow as your legs."
"She wonders why she was kicked out of her old pack, who wants a lumbering oaf wandering around the territory?" He grinned, watching as Eden passed by. She turned, leveling her gaze at Inferno.

"You should not incessantly torment Canaan as such Inferno. He may be an omega but it is my duty to take care of everyone in the pack even from ourselves."

"Yeah Inferno, listen to your senior ranks." He nodded to Eden, flicking his tail in greeting. There were enough wolves in camp to keep the enemies at bay now, he could relax a little before the patrols left. A time he didn't particularly want to spend with the alpine she-wolf who still stank of mountain air.

Fairwell Chickensmoothie! It was a good run.

If there is anyone who I unfortunately left any loose ends open with when I originally disappeared from the site near the end of 2012, you're welcome to drop a PM if you'd like to try to resolve them. It has admittedly been far too many years for me to remember precisely what all may have been left unsettled.

In addition, if anyone sees this and would like to try to reestablish contact, you're more than welcome to drop me a message as well. I'll try to poke my head in over the next few months at the least in case any of the above happens, but cannot guarantee how often messages will be checked after that.

Best Regards,
