Rabella stood at the doors to the White Room, staring at the place in approaching horror. No shadows? I've lived with them, how am I supposed to let them go?! She thought, her breathing quickening in panic. She slowly started to enter, feeling her friends reach towards her in desperation. "Time to start this thing.." She whispered, leaving her life outside the doors and lugging her suitcase inside. She was quickly given a white jumpsuit, similar to that of a prison, and was also lead to a room. She put her suitcase under the bed, closed the room door and quickly changed into the jumpsuit, unable to stop the tears of stressed confusion from running down her cheeks.

With a little sigh and a blink of my eyes I sit down in the corner of the room, my book in my hand. I slowly flip to the page I had last stoped on and start to read, happy that, for once, the shadows wern't here to bother me. As I read threw the pages I smile just slightly. No matter how many times I read this same book, I absolutely loved it. I glance up, grumbling as I see to very fimilier forms there. MayMay and MJ. "I've told you to leave me alone." I mutter to the two shadows and MJ just looks at me sadly, but angrily, and MayMay pouts, going to hug me. "I said stop!" I snap at both of them then turn my back to the two.

Alice rolled over onto her stomach. She had recently been daydreaming of the most peculiar things ad was quick to snatch up her sketchbook and pencil. Still half lost in thought she began scribbling some things down and drawing what it was she had dreamed about. Alice had always called it the perfect gift, being able to dream while awake. It was calming and allowed her to escape the world just by letting everything slip out of focus for a while. After some time she finished she sketching and looked at her work. A mass of small, strange looking creatures filled the page, mixed here and there with little scribbles on what they were and the way they acted. Alice smiled, reminded of the small shadowy creatures that had kept her company when she was alone or otherwise board. She had developed quite the bond with them.
Humming softly to herself Alice closed the sketchbook and slid it back under her bed where the rest of her personal belongings were hidden. It amazed her that even in the places where there should be shadow there was none. Just white everywhere. It was boring really and Alice had more than once tried drawing on the walls to give the room some flavour but the people that worked there didn't like that. They would simply paint back over it with the same dull white that covered every surface down the doorknobs. Alice also thought it quite strange that they had a place specialized for getting rid of the shadows. "It must be a common thing then." She thought out loud, twirling a bit of hair around her finger. A little sigh escaped her lips as she continued thinking. 'Why would they want to get rid of the shadows anyways? I'm fairly certain they're real things and the only way to get rid of thing is to kill them. But then again you can’t kill shadow, just turn the light on. Hmmm... But even they you can’t really get rid of them because everyone has shadows. They're everywhere light can't get to. So couldn't they be under my clothes?' Alice took the time to unzip her jumper and peer inside just to make sure there were any little creatures. There weren’t. 'Nope. The fabric lets light through. Hmm... That is a shame. I was having such a good conversation with one of the little ones. I was hoping to resume...But I suppose that's the sort of thing they want to stop. Couldn't I choose for myself though? I mean they don't torment me and I quite enjoy their company. I haven't hurt anyone on their behalf.'
Alice continued thinking about it for quite some time and she realised that she might be thinking about them well into the night if she didn't stop. So she decided stopping would be the best thing. Quietly she reached back under her bed and pulled out a book. It was a creature encyclopedia and had everything from A Bao A Qu to Zu. Most people wouldn't know what either of those were but she did. Well... Sort of anyways.

[Augustus Flinch~20~Male~Human]
[Somebody calls my name, and suddenly I am sad,
but why?]
He sat on the bed in his room, the horribly clean and white room, shivering despite the fact that he was not cold. The young man felt scared and alone, petrifying fear eating away at him like tiny little termites, gnawing into his skin and setting his throat on fire. His eyes were stinging, but he didn't want to cry. He knew that he would give in soon, but he felt disgusted with himself just by thinking of breaking down.
Not that what was currently happening to him couldn’t be called a breakdown. He had huddled into himself the first chance he had gotten upon entering his room, pressing his knees up to his chest and hugging his legs tightly. The clean white sheets were bunched up around him, and he had pushed the pillow off of the bed. It was resting on the ground, along with his dignity. Violently shaking as he was, and being on the verge of tears certainly didn’t display a good image of him, and he was embarrassed even though there was nobody in the room with him.
Nobody.
It was pitiful of him to think so, but he had never felt more alone in his life. The shadows were gone, not a one of them in sight. The presence that he had grown accustomed to over the many years he had spent in their company was no more. And he felt very, very afraid.
He had known, when he had walked into his house, that it would be the start of something terrifying. He had felt it in his bones, so deep that he had been sure that it had been his very soul aching in warning. When his father had looked at him with a grim expression on his weary face, Augustus had known that nothing good would come from his tutor's presence in his house. And he had been right, though he dearly wished that he hadn’t. His mother had held more of an impassive appearance than his father, but Augustus had seen that she had been distressed. And it was that what sealed the deal.
His mother never showed worry, and for her to look that obviously worried, even though she had been doing a good show of hiding it, had obviously been a sign of bad things to come.
Now, he was sitting in the ugly white room, completely alone and having one of the most horrifying breakdowns he had ever experienced.
‘She was fixed right up. Don’t worry, you’ll be too.'
[Flying out from the world, beyond the universe,
I felt I heard a voice, or so I thought.]
[Ugh, sorry for the short and ugly post. I'm pretty writer's blocked right now. OTL]

After sitting on the clean, unscuffed white tile floor and carving deep scratches into it using the zipper from her suitcase, Rabella shakily stood and looked down at her work.
True Story
Smiling in a dark satisfaction that she didn't know she had, she slowly tip-toed out of her room. "Hello?.." She called out into the petrifying silence, "Am I the only one here?.." Silently beginning to stride down the dorm hallway, Rabella peered into every room, searching for other people. The further she got with no signs of any creatures, the more her eyes filled up with tears once again. "Hello?.." She called out again, this time her voice wavered rather pathetically, and she wrapped her arms around herself as terror crawled it's way into her mind and body. She slowly sunk to her knees, then onto her side, curling into the fetal positing and hugging her knees. Her eyes became wide as the silence continued, and her tears fell to the white floor, unheard and unseen.

Alice's attention was captured when she heard the sound of a voice somewhere outside her door Gingerly she pushed herself up and off her bed, creeping silently to the barrier that separated her room from the hall. She stood on her tip-toes, glancing at the hallway outside her room. Her eyebrows arched when she saw a girl curled up on the floor. Sinking back to a flat-footed stance she tried the door knob. The door was unlocked so she eased it open and crept out into the hall. Alice had long since taken her shoes off and so her bare feet made an impressive amount of silence as she walked over to the girl.
"Are you alright?" She asked softly, kneeling beside the girl and sweeping some loose strands of wispy blonde hair out of her eyes. Gently she laid a hand on the girls shoulder, peering over her body to catch a glimpse of her face. She was crying.
"Are you home sick? Don't worry. I am a little too." Alice murmured.
She moved slightly, shifting into a more comfortable position which happened to be cross-legged. "Atleast they don't lock the doors." Alice gave the girl a gentle smile.
'Maybe she's insane? No...No that’s not polite to assume. Just because she's curled up like that doesn't mean anything. I think I slept like that once actually... Hmm I wonder if she likes the shadows or not? If she does maybe we can find some here. I'm sure the place can't be lit up all the time.' And with that Alice slowly slipped out of focus and into space, her eyes growing blank as she stared at a lot of nothing which happened to be in the direction of the wall.

Rabella all-but leapt up into the air upon feeling a touch to her shoulder, although her reflex was clearly delayed by at least a minute. She blinked at the sudden appearance of a girl, then licked her tear-soaked lips and took a ragged breath. She shakily sat back down beside the strange, new girl and blinked at the wall in desolate lonliness. "P-Pardon?.. I can't rec-recall what you had said.." She finally managed to push the broken words past her lips, her voice sounding weak and childish. Aye, way for first impressions.. She thought to herself, heaving a soft sigh and causing a strand of her currently-stringy white hair to blow away from her cheek, if only for a moment, then float back to hang over her eyes.

"Oh. I'm sorry." Alice said, snapping back into reality. Her eyes focused on the girl who was now sitting beside her. "I asked if you were alright." She repeated, smiling sheepishly "You are alright, aren’t you?" Alice stared at the girl for a moment, taking the time commit the face to memory so if she was given a name she could easier remember it. The girl seemed shaken but Alice was not going to force her comfort on the girl if she didn't want or, for that matter, need it. So she patiently awaited an answer, fidgeting ever so slightly.

"M-Me?.. Oh, yeah. Thanks for asking, but I'm fine.." Rabella responded with a slight smile, then glanced around for the sight of any shadows, even if just one in a corner. "A little lonely." She added after a long pause, pulling one knee to her chest. There was too much.. white in this place. It made her fidgety, jumpy and nervous. Nevermind emotionally unstable.
