Kia hit the ground with a thud and stumbled forward a few steps. She could feel tears spring to her eyes as she looked into the sky. A flaming ball that used to be the jet was falling out of the sky, leaving a trail of black smoke. She looked over at Blair who was on her knees staring at the sky, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Kia walked over to Blair and put her hands on her shoulder, "I'm so sorry Blair.........." she whispered.
Blair closed her eyes and bit her lip, suddenly she turned on Lauren who was walking over to them. Her eyes had turned were-wolf green and she bared her wolf fangs, she stared at Lauren with a look of anger.
"You!" she snarled, jamming her finger in Lauren's chest. "This is your fault!"
"What are you talking about?" exclaimed Kia, shocked.
Blair ignored her and stared accusingly at Lauren. "If you hadn't been such a wimp, maybe Mike would still be alive!"
Kia put herself between Blair and Lauren, who was becoming teary-eyed.
"This isn't Lauren's fault, it's no one's fault. We can't change the past....." she said.
Blair let out a small choked cry and fell to her knees, "I'm sorry.... I just can't believe he's gone......" she whispered.
Justin and Jay watched from a distance, probably because they never really knew Mike well. Kia sat next to Blair and wrapped her arms around her, unsure of what to say. Why was the world so cruel? Mike had only just escaped from the concentration camp, now he was dead. Kia shook her head sadly and let a few tears fall, she could feel Blair hugging her. Suddenly the whirring of the other jet returned and they heard a bang.
"Kia!" cried out Jay, knocking her and her friends out of the way before a net could trap her.
"Everybody run!" shouted Justin.
They began running the other way, the were-wolves going into wolf form and carrying Jay and Lauren on their backs. Kia streaked across the fields, her paws pounding the ground and panic threatening to choke her.
Suddenly a net dropped on her and she was pulled into the air towards the jet.
