Aponi nods to Tora as he speaks and steps closer to him as Iago moves away, heading deeper into the center of the circle. Not actually touching him, but taking some comfort from her brother's closeness, she looks over the confusing scene with dampened spirits.
He's right... We really need to find someone to ask. She thinks, eyes darting over every warrior in armor she can see.
But how do we choose just one? I mean, they must all know, right? So then it doesn't matter who we ask... At this point, her gaze drifts back to Rayo and Dax, excited looking apprentices milling around him, and even more coming up to speak with him. Suddenly and idea hits her and she looks back to Tora with a little spark of excitement glimmering in her eyes.
"Tora, I think this is a test! We're supposed to go ask someone! They don't choose us, we're supposed to be the brave ones and choose one of them!"Aponi cranes her neck then, practically standing on the tips of her toes as he head swivels around, taking in every warrior and glint of armor before she looks back to Tora.
"Ok, well lets split up and go find some mentors, ok? You go that way and I'll go this way." She says, picking arbitrary directions that would have them meeting on the other side of the circle eventually. With that, she slips off into the crowd, light on her feet she easily snakes around the others, and few even notice that she is there. However, the progress is slow going, as she is constantly stopping to listen in on the conversations taking place everywhere around her. Eavesdropping coming to her as naturally as an otter takes to water. Thus she has not gone far when she hears Fireflight's voice, and quickly follows her gaze towards the black and white warrior Foalan. The look of utter rigidity and defiance on his face makes her chuckle, and she immediately dips back into the crowd.
I can't let him stand there like that... He's going to be there until he turns to stone. After a few moments negotiation, she manages to come up behind Iago, and on a lark she slides up beside him. Fluffing his fur forward as she slides across him, she tips her nose up and whispers in his ear.
"Hey Iago, you want to be a warrior? Then be brave. Go ask someone to be your teacher." With that, she slips past him, easily walking under his chin and making sure to bop him in the nose with her tail as she passes. She grins to Fireflight, then steps back into the gathered wolves. None of others seem to notice her passing and her black and white pelt immediately mingles with the others. In effect, she melts into them and practically disappears before their eyes.
