I would LOVE purple glowfish but they haven't been legalised in Australia
I love my zebra danios. It is best to get a group of at least 5. They do best that way. They like to swim in schools. They are fun to watch though. They seem to have a "race track" around the plants in my tank, lol.
Just a little thing to keep in mind about Tetras and Danios...
Tetras and danios are both shoaling species and you should always keep at least five of each species together, preferably more. One that is kept alone will be stressed and spend most if its time hiding. The stress can also weaken its immune system and make it more susceptible to illness. A large group of them are naturally also much more beautiful to watch in the aquarium and you will be able to see a much broader range of natural behaviors. When kept in a shoal, these fish are active creatures and they will spend most of their time in the middle of the aquarium.
As for being a good match with tetras, im not too sure. I have had tetras and bigger fish kind of pick on them. Danios are similar in size but they are a bit more aggressive towards smaller fish. I have noticed one of my tetras picking on a molly (and shes bigger than he is)

you can kinda see it in the 2nd pic just before its tail the spine has a bump in it which makes its tail slant down slightly
cant really get a good pic
It doesn't seem to really bother it though it still gets around with the others and can keep up, it must have been like that when it was born

I knowI have 13 neons 7 gold skirts and I'm looking at getting 5 of each (zebra, leopard and spotted danios) I dont really feel that great about getting only 5 of each but If I get anymore my tank will be over stoked and I'm hoping they might kinda school together anyway

That could be a sign of piscine tuberculosis. Check him out a little bit more if you're worried.

 hes doesn't seem to have any of the other symptoms, should I remove him just in case or keep an eye on him? I have had him for a week and he seems to be the same

But every time I will go up to the tank, he turns and stares back at me and follows me whereever I go begging for food.
He also will follow a finger outside the tank. It's so funny. :3
