I cannot belive who the new slave is!
It was the girl who was looking through the window! Her name is Kathryn, she told me. Apparently, her master was the one that was killed yesterday! She was going to be killed, but then they found out Master was looking for another slave, so they let her stay with us. Here's a picture of her if you've forgotten ;

She had a teddy bear that she always sleeps with, and he is so cute! Of course, as I hoped for, she is the same age as me and she had her own blanket and chest.
She can also know what Lunar is saying, and they have become friends. Lunar likes Kathryn and Kathryn likes Lunar. She likes to sing to Kathryn. Kathryn thinks it sounds beautiful.
We're on the train right now. It's horribly stuffy, but we have real beds and pillows. It's amazing! I've never slept on one of these before so it was really exiting for me! It's much more comfortable then the floor. Lunar sleeps on my old blanket beside me on the bed. Kathryn sleeps across from me. The only thing that I don't like about the trade is that because we are slaves, we don't get much food at all. I'm usally not hungry because I've learned to tough it out, but the food here smells delicous! I've only gotten to taste it once, and let me tell you, I want more, more then I could eat of it. Kathryn likes it too but not as much as me. I guess we both like different things. Lunar told me this was natural. I'd snorted because I wasn't that dumb. Well, i's getting really late, and I'm tired. Besides, if I don't go to sleep soon, I won't be able to get up in the morning!

Master had to rent a house. Apparently, we are building a new one out of wood. It takes a lot of work, which me and Kathryn will mostly be doing. We have to cut the trees and then lay them out perfectly. We cut the trees with metal tools and then skin them. Lunar is going to explore the forest we live beside. I bet she'll have much more fun then us!
But anyway, we rented a house. When we got off the train, men surrounded us. All of them were saying things like, 'Ma'am, may I take your bags?' or 'I have a place you could rent!'. Master simply chose one of the men, then we went on foot soward the street. Toward our temporary home.
When we got there, it looked like the place was deserted. Master stepped up the stairs and nocked on the door three times. I had felt something crawl over my paw but I ignored it as I thought I had imagined it. An old man answered. Master spoke some words to him and he let us in. It was incredibly dark and I couldn't see anything. Master went over to the only window, opening it. I'd screamed. There were cocoroaches and maggots everywere! I could feel them, crawling over me, and I shook vigerously. This was disgusting! Kathryn was already outside, shivering, and so was Master. The old man grabbed my paw and tried to drag me in deeper, but I kicked him and he let go. Of course, I made a run for it, and within seconds I was standing gasping there with Kathryn. Master took us both and shoved us away.
Lunar says she'd rather die then go to that place again, and I agree. I can still feel the roaches and maggots crawling over me, as if they were really there! Luckily, Master rented an expensive room, but she still has money left. Me and Kathryn sleep on the floor, but it is so much better then that house. I hope we don't even go on that street again. Ever again. Oh well, it is getting dark and I will get whipped if I am not asleep before nightfall.
