Artyom got up and started getting his things, "I can't cry. No tear ducts." He said stubbornly, "Anyway, I have to go now or I'll be late." He stuffed his English textbook, a notebook, and a few of his favorite CDs in his backpack and started to leave.

Velydia was humming quietly to herself, curled up in a big fluffy chair that basically swallowed her whole as she scanned the text book looking absolutely confused. So far Artyom had only taught her the letters, which she still confused H's for G's and flipped d's and b's and she was still not clear with q-v. But she tried to teach herself sometimes and at the moment was trying to teach herself how to read. Which she was failing at.

Artyom didn't bother knocking on the door--Vel knew he was coming. He opened it quietly and looked at her in that big fluffy chair --which he was a little scared of. He never liked being surrounded, even by furniture. He smiled and tossed his backpack near the other chair--which had a normal amount of fluffiness--and waved, "Hey. Are you reading that?"

Artyom smiled again at Velydia's natural adorable-ness, "that happened when I was learning English. Russian has different letters, so I had to learn the alphabet too. Here, let me help you." He said and sat on the edge of the big evil fluffy chair and began reading for her, pointing to the letters as he did so.

Velydia put her finger on the page. "How do these make those sounds? They are, you call them, letters. And together, they make these words. But how do they do that?" She scowled, "We have no pictures where I am from. Just song. All song." Her nose scrunched up as she glared at the page. "Why do you not just speak all time? Use those magic things that steal your words and let you replay them instead of these strange."
