I need goals to keep me interested in a game. I also have a fairly picky eye. If a lineage makes my head hurt(if it is too long, the dragons dont look good together, etc) I'll abandon the egg. Also, when I see an inbred dragon, it is just something I've been trained not to do from so many other SIM games.
So to me, pure bred, pretty lineages, are essential.
