yeah my friend tried to read The Fellowship of the Ring and the introduction bored her. I know the intro is about stuff not relevant to the book, and now she won't read it because she doesn't want to read the intro

You know, I really can't stand people that hate a book just because it's old and/or it's difficult to read.

Sorry, but I was just reading another thread (the "worst book you ever read" thread) and several people are on there bashing The Hobbit. Mostly because these people don't seem to have the patience to read it. You know, it's fine if you don't like something...but to call it the worst book ever just because you have a hard time reading it??? That drives me nuts. People so very rarely see the beauty of some of these classical books nowadays. I wish more of the younger generation would appreciate these kinds of books and not bash on them because "they're old", or whatever reasoning they have. I mean, these stories and novels have lasted this long for a reason...because they are GOOD books.

Whew...sorry, just ranting a bit lol.

H*ll. Who would even bother to make a thread like that? I don't even want to know. Because if I do, I'm afraid to know what I might do. :3

Did you know that is the same website I use to teach myself Elvish? A week ago my sister and I had this really long-winded insult fest. Completely in Elvish. My parents had no idea what we were saying and they were giving us these skeptical looks.

The only part where I almost lost interest was the Tom Bombadil chapter. But I forced my way through that and carried on through the book with ease.

I loved the Tom Bombadil chapter! it kept making me laugh but I was supposed to be sleeping so I ended up trying to keep my laughter in and falling off the bed XD
