I'm so lucky my library has them. I don't know what I would do if they didn't. Twilight is for girls who enjoy a 55 parts romance, 1 part violence and epicness book. I like it the other way around... 1 part romance, 55 parts violence and epicness.

I feel the same! most girls I know who are my age are really shallow and read Twilight and all that nonsense (no offense to any Twilight fans) and it really makes me mad! I read/watch LotR to get away from the real world (which I'm not all that fond of)
I'm an adult now! don't message me about things i said when i was 12

I must admit, I do like the romance part, but Twilight is just over the top. It's just too sappy. And you know what I hate? The Hunger Games! I don't actually hate them, but I wish it just stopped at the first book. The other two just, just, no. I liked the adventure and survival part in it, but the plot wasn't as creative as it could have been, especially as it went on. And the way every living person is obsessing over the Hunger Games is exactly like they were obsessing over Twilight the past year and a half.
Lord of the Rings is so much more than all that. It goes beyond fangirls and movies, it is so much more than anyone gives it credit for. How I wish Tolkien was still alive.

I feel so glad knowing there are other girls out there like me who think normal is overrated. Literally. It fills me with happiness.

Don't you hate it when you try to talk to someone about Lord of the Rings and they change the subject to Harry Potter? I despise Harry Potter more than Twilight, and that's saying A LOT.

I know! 89% of the world is ignoring the Lord of the Rings books. But I have to disagree with your HP comment I lovelovelove harry potter.

how could you ridicule it

.
ahem.
But all isn't lost! My science teacher showed us the Fellowship of the Ring as an end-of-the-year movie last year

Soree. I have a meanie mouth and sometimes say things I shouldn't.

Especially when I rant about how much I hate Twilight or Harry Potter. Usually I look up from my ranting and some of the people are growling and rolling up thier sleeves.

I used to be a Harry Potter nerd too... That lasted for a quite a while, and don't get me wrong, I still love it, but I tried reading them a couple months ago and I realized how easy she writes.
And I don't particularly prefer the way Tolkien writes either, it's something I actually have to concentrate on, rather than just dive write in. But Lord of the Rings is Lord of the Rings, and though nothing is perfect and people always wish something was different about their lives, I love it and am completely devoted to it. I laughed when the kids in my advisory thought I was writing in Arabic or something on the whiteboard. If only they knew.
