January growths

This is just a mere question, and probably a noobish one at that, but does the hour that you adopt a puppy count as to how many days its age is? Like I adopted this one:

on the 15th of January and it says that it is 7 days old. I clicked on one of the curly tailed ones, and it was adopted on the 15th of January and it says that it is 8 days old. I guess that makes sense. If a child wasn't born until noon, it wouldn't technically be a year older until noon of that day instead of that day in general.

Anyways, in terms of growths (I joined about on the 11th of Jan) I got...

Lucky! All my swirly blanket pups are 8 days old and not one curly tail in the bunch. *sighs* Looks like luck was not with me on those probably because that's the one I wanted the most.
