Eyepets, I think you're thinking of the daemons in The Golden Compass. Ours don't follow the same rules, because they're not actually there - it's hard to avoid having people accidentally touch something they can't see. Especially if you have a large form in a crowded place. So, as far as I know, we don't really consider it "disgusting."

If dæmons were corporeal, I'd be in a whole lot of trouble. Kodiak bear as Avo's stable form... I've analysized my mom as a cow. XD

LOL, I'd be in trouble in a different way - Me: Coyote/NGSD, Father: Side-striped jackal, Mother: African Wild Dog, Two of my close friends: Golden jackals. Too many wild canines under one roof = chaos. XD

I haven't analyzed most of my friends yet, except the two golden jackals because they just exude jackal vibes, and another close friend who is some type of squirrel.

...Though one of my ex-boyfriends was some sort of infuriatingly nonchalant aquatic thing. Probably a whale of some sort. Not to say that all aquatics infuriate me, just that the way he showed it did. XD
