( Oh, I see. Well, my apoligies for miss understanding. I do that at times. And yeah, I have a pretty good comephrehension of what no to little technology in such an era means. I don't really rp in these types of things commonly ( unless its a semi-lit and has a nice twist to the plot like yours ) but the olden era does keep one entertained enough to get some insperation from it. ^^ )

Sapphire -

"If I get into trouble, I can always escape. Its my expertee." I said with a light, childish laugh. Long time since I had ever been exposed to so much entertaining company. Not since my adoptive parents died a few years back, if I remember correctly. Disease was cruel, and cared naught if you where rich or poor or had a family to feed. But it was the truth about life that I had learned to accept pretty well. My eyes narrowed at the tension of the second boys arm as he grabbed for his knife so obviously. "I've only lived in the streets for a few years, but I know very well how the muscles of the body tense when grabbing a weapon, and it does hurt me you two trust me so very little." I said, keeping my voice low in a whisper, and changing the tone as a gaurd passed by, his heavy silver armor showed that he was one of the local patrols that gaurded the castle and town. I started peeling my orange happily, not showing a trace of hunger or desperation in my face as I did, though I had eaten since the last sun. My dark long hair curled around my child-like, pale face making my eyes look a darker blue. Even though I hadn't spent much more than a few minutes in the presence of these two boys, my confidence got the best of me and I showed no effort in showing my true identity. "Freedom is something that doesn't exist unless you fight for it. Speaking so openly is my own form of resistance." I said, going along with anything that popped up in my mind and changing the subject. "Really, I have nothing against this new king, but those little top notches haunting him are starting to annoy me." I murmered to myself, wondering suddently where it had come from. But whatever I felt like saying rolled out of my mouth and into the open, so I went along with it.

If one didn't steal to eat, one would starve, so I steal. If one didn't want to die, one would fight for that right, so I fight. If one wants this unheard thing called freedom, then I shall pursue it. Even if that means getting cornered by one of those gaurds one day and having myself decapitated for rebellion.

But fleeting is an advantage in battle after all. Not just stealing rather amazing oranges.-

( I don't think it would make sense, because my Natsumi isn't a peasent. She isn't a lady in waiting either, but more of a noble, so it wouldn't make sense for her to be outside. Plus, she doesn't talk much anyway, and she's rarely seen. She's my minor character. )

Glancing out his window at the dark sky and the bright stars, Ari let out a sigh. It was such a beautiful night, even if the night air was chilly. However, that was what a warm fireplace was for. But Ari was not wanting to stay in this place all night. It was simple boring and tiring of being alone. At least for right now. Doing anything else then sitting here staring out a window had to be better, no? Even just a short walk would be just fine. Deciding to do just that Ari grabbed a black cloak he wrapped it around himself, before walking out of his room and down the stone stairs and making his way out into the night. Yes, it was cold. Hence Ari shivering slightly. But it was bearable, for now. Pushing hair out of his far he continued walking. Not that he'd actually...go to town. Not at all. It was more peaceful here, at least in his mind. And with the Royal Guards constantly around, it was much safer. Giving a faint smile at that thought, he dragged himself away from those simple thoughts, gazing up at the sky. There was not much to see up there. And so, getting tired of that Ari found himself standing by a tree, very unsure of what else to do. It was not as if there was much to do anyways. Going back inside was the only other option, and not one that sounded very pleasant. But staying out here in this slight cold air wasn't exactly inviting either.

Ren remained silent between the exchange between this female newcomer and Mark, simply listening to the conversation and adding nothing himself. He accepted the orange without a word, and attempted to mirror Mark's smile. Naturally, it came out small and almost unsure, but better then nothing he decided in the end. He too stuck the orange into a pocket, but like with the bread he would be eating it later. It was nice to have his hands on some food that probably wasn't poisoned for once. When a guard paced by, Ren once again didn't manage to quell his reaction enough, and twitched a bit, almost jumping. In the end he just moved a bit so his hair shielded his face a bit, making it hopefully harder to recognize him, or so he hoped. Knowing his luck, someone would end up putting together just how similar the street-child in front of them looked to the King, and the obvious realization that occurred after that. Hopefully no time soon, or so Ren hoped. His luck was, if that wasn't clear by then, was not in his favor over the recent months. Hearing the comment that this girl was one of the few that didn't want his head detached from his body, he almost smiled but caught himself. At least one person knew what was going on.
"You're a very strange girl, mostly people want Ren dead. And you really should watch your words; there are a lot of guards around here." Well, that was about four times as much as Ren had spoken up till that point, if the tone was still quiet. Maybe someday he would be the cheery and overly talkative boy he once was, without nearly as much fear of what he himself said. Hah, that would never happen, just another light delusion that he liked to think about. There were too many of those.
Shivering slightly as the air grew colder, it was nearing winter after all, Ren's thoughts were diverted. Right now, he decided, he had to make sure neither of these other children was going to whip out a knife and impale him through. In comparison, most other matters were irrelevant.

Tyler
Ty wandered away from the castle. He needed a break... and he had that break. Ren had left a short while ago, so he was "off duty", even though he technically wasn't. As he came into the village, he moved swiftly, not going anywhere in particular. He just wanted to be back by the time Ren got back... However, that was highly unlikely to happen.
As he came toward the forest a while away from the village, he slowed his pace, now moving more cautiously and quietly. Something moved in the corner of his eye, and his hand snapped up over his head to grab his bow. It was an instinct. Unsure, and cautious, he called out;
" Hello? "

Mark scowled darkly over at the girl, not caring much for what she had said. "Yes? Well perhaps I was not trying to be sneaky." He snapped in return, giving a small glare. "And it hurts that we don't trust you? For us it would hurt quite a bit more if you happened to hurt us, no? So of course we are not going to be trusting you. That, if you have any street sense at all, is what keeps someone like us alive." Mark told her simply. It was all true and a fact, something he would have thought she would understand. Or perhaps this girl in front of him was not too smart. "You say that you can always escape? Try escaping from chains when being dragged up to be hanged. Is that something that you can escape from? With many guards around, ready to shoot you with arrows or a gun if you try? Yes. You would be able to escape. But escape in death, is what you would do. Perhaps that is a better escape then living as is." Mark gave a slight shrug of his shoulders, before giving the other boy a confused look as he twitched upon seeing the guard. Suddenly Mark's eyes widened a tad, before he thought he understood. The boy must be wanted for something. Hiding his face like he did. As the boy then spoke up, Mark couldn't help but agree. This girl was very strange indeed. "And I have everything against this new king. He has taken everything from everyone, caring for only himself and his greed." Yes. That was harsh on his own part, and incorrect as well. But that mattered little to Mark. He had his thoughts and he would stick to them. Little did he know that the king was actually standing near him. His eyes flicking back over to the other boy as he shivered. It reminded himself of how it was getting slightly colder out. Something that he would deal with, having no other choice in that matter. "Now, boy. You should reveal your name, that is if you have one." He gave a near silent chuckle at that. This boy didn't seem like he would tell his name at all. Being so quiet like he was. But perhaps Mark would be able to pry something out of him. Even just a name. There was no telling if he would ever see this boy again, though, so it wouldn't matter much.

Ari, being the boy that he was, did not notice at all that another human being was coming close to his little... 'hiding place' until he actually heard a voice. Something that scared him quite a bit. Jumping and turning around to face the new person, he gave a smile. The face of this person seemed familiar. One that he knew that he had seen before, however he could not identify where or why. Pulling his cloak tighter around himself as the chill of the air began to seep in, he strode forward, keeping his chin up. Ah. Yes. The face was very familiar indeed, but he just could not add a name to it. He knew that he had seen this person before. Maybe he had just never spoken with him or interacted. And that was why right now was such a great change. Being alone outside at night, in this brisk and chilling air, it would give them a chance to talk. Maybe not how they normally would be able to, as well. Drawing closer he stood there, smiling. The boy in front of him was very tall, especially in comparison to himself. And it also looked like he was reaching for something. Was that a bow? Ari's face suddenly lit up with understanding. This was one of those royal guards, but who it was he could not place a name on, like stated before. But perhaps that name didn't matter. This person was of lower standing then him. "You are Royal Guard, are you not? I have seen you before. Now, do not shoot me. For that would cause for a very unfortunate ending to this night."

Sapphire -

A grin curled onto my face as the boy talked ever so openly about his own opinions on me. "Yes, yes thats true, but like a cat, I will not attack you unless you provoke me first. It seems you males are always edgy. I should have stepped more catiously around you two." I mumbled to myself, but loud enough for the two boys to hear. My muscles where tense, disapproving of my noncatious manner around these two. They could be spies for all I knew. But then again, they must be thinking the same of myself. Adressing the first boy, who I had first spoken to, I opened my mouth to speak. "'Fear authority and you shall never improve.'" A lesson I was taught young by my adoptive father. As a youngling I had always shyed away from authority because of my fear for it. For the things they where capable to do. Now that I had nothing to lose... "If they were to decapitate myself right now, I would not mind. Punishment is never a thing I liked, but fearing it won't get me anywhere either. If I have to hold my toungue for the rest of my life in return for living a half-completed life, then I'd rather die." Some of my dark hair was starting to get in the way of my sight, like it always did. For some reason is liked it there. My blue eyes however, where filled with fury at the second boy.

"That his father, thy King died and that the other heirs did to where not his fault. If I were in charge of the kingdom at this age I'd be scared to death as well. However much I openly dislike our foolish goverment, its the puppeteer you should hate. Not the puppet." The words came out in an angry tone for some reason. However, I was already to caught up in my own feelings to stop.

"The character can not choose his author nor the role he plays in the story. But it is always possible for the single character to change the entire plot."-

є ν ι є
We'd arrived in town a while ago and I had said my thanks to the man and it was now nightfall. Lights were on inside large houses and candles flicked behind the dirty windows of the small ones. I had just passed two Guards unnoticed and was now watching a conversatoin progressing among three street walkers like myself. I recognised all three from fleeting glances as we scampered across each other's paths in the night, but I had never seen any of them together.
It didn't seem like anything important. Just a conversation or argument between the three. Although mainly the skinny boy stayed out if it.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to be involved or not, but the conversation was dwindling to hold none of my interests just as the girl started talking about attacking. Then she changed to the goverment. This sparked my interest. Slowly I lowered myself to a branch beneath me ,in the large tree I had climbed when seeing the two boys together; before the girl came, so I could hear better. Interesting. Not only her views but the way in which she spoke. She didn't sound much like an Urchin to me. More like an educated nobles-daughter. I had to think for a moment before understanding a couple of words.
My hand slipped up my dress and slowly I pulled out the knife which I had strapped to my thigh, tied there by stolen strong string. I couldn't trust this girl who dressed in Urchin dress but then spoke like a Heiress. Mayhaps she was out to kill the King or even just to spy on him. Not that sitting talking to the two boys could ever be good. They could hardly know anything about the King. I had actually been inside the Castle. Even if it was just to work. Gossip in the kitchen and on the Ballroom Floor is the sort of Gossip that would get people hanged if they were to reveal it in the ears of a Advisor.
I was now tempted to go and join in, just as I heard footsteps and loud rustling in the shrubbery to the right of the small group and me. Quickly I climbed higher, my knife held safely in between my teeth.
When I was half-way up I quickly changed into my newly washed boys clothes, almost falling and killing my self several times as the rustling got louder. I pulled the cap low over my face, stuffed the dress into the bag and scampered two branches lower again; still high enough to be hidden, but lower enough to see and hear. Wanting to be able to see what happened and know if the tree wasn't as safe as somewhere among the buildings.
