Blackmist had dodged to one side as the fox tried to get a hold of him. It lunged at Blackmist with it's teeth bared ready to meet his leg. Pain seared through his leg as the fox clamped onto his hind leg. He batted at the fox's head to send it away, only instead of fleeing it rounded on him and swatted him to a nearby tree. Blackmist hit the tree with a sickening thud and fell to the ground. He lay there motionless and drifted off into nothing but blackness...

Ebonypaw let out a strangled cry. "Blackmist!" She screeched, racing to her mentor's side. "A-Are you okay?"

Ravenmoon lunged at the fox again, them darted to the left, trying to lead it away from Blackmist and Ebonypaw. "Mangy fleabag!" She spat, darting in to rake its sides with her claws before leaping away again. The fox snarled and began chasing after her. Yes! It's working!

Blackmist was floating in total darkness. Then a lush clearing appeared. "Greetings Blackmist." Blackmist whirled to face a dazzling white she-cat with piercing white eyes. "Mom?" he asked astonished. "Yes my beloved son?" He padded slowly over to his mother that had died from his aggressive and ambitious father Thistleclaw. "Is this a dream?" She gazed at him with her white eyes that had been glittered with love and sorrow as she stood before him. "Yes it is. And it is your choice to pick your fate." His mother flicked her tail into two directions. One was under a fallen tree with shadows clinging around it and the other led into a path of ferns that were dazzling with golden sunlight. "I cannot influence your choice."
