I like the shading, especially on the head, but somehow the pic is still a bit too dark for my taste - maybe because the bird is dark^^
Have you tried to do some lighting on it yet? I bet it'd look great if you handle it just like the shading x3

Thanks all of you, and Cohlybrie, I tried to lighten it a little bit, but because kiwi birds are dark...I didn't want to mess that up. Thanks for the advice though :)

Yes, that was the ref for the pose, but I used a handful of photos from a quick Google search as the references...

Like I said that one was for the pose and I used another for the feather detail and another for the general color of the bird.
