I looked up at him when Grant spoke to me, and I smiled half-heartedly while throwing a grape at him. "Hiding from you, Fishboy," I giggled, and had one hand behind my back, fixing a slight kink in my braid. Ugh, I looked way too pretty and girly. No one was going to take me seriously in the arena! I bet that half the guys that see me here tonight will give me one look in the Games and automatically think, 'Oh, it's that girl who wore that strapless black dress at the dinner. She'll be easy to take down.' Which made me feel very irritated all of a sudden. For a minute, my annoyance about my stylist showed in my stormy grey eyes before I turned away, fiddling with the bracelet on my wrist.

District 4||Dinner||Grant

Grant rolled his eyes playfully and laughed. "Alright, sure, Jackalope." He looked around, shaking his head in mock dissaproval. He turned back to her, seeing she turned away. He turned back to Lero, not knowing really what to do.

Lero let out a laugh at Grant's word.
"Grant, I think we were born ready," The blonde male grinned, his pearly white teeth showing beautifully. Lero pulled out a chair to sit next to Grant, he sat on it neatly before relaxing slightly into the comfortable chair. Leaning on the table he spoke again, staring around at some of the District 5 and 8 tributes, "It's a shame though, that not everyone will survive,"

Grant laughed. "Yeah, so true." He paused for a moment, thinking about what to say. Should he speak Career-like here, or be for real? If he was serious, his mom might get killed. Everyone should survive. The Games shouldn't even EXIST. He sighed silently before saying, "Yeah, real shame." He said it with true sencerity and honesty. He looked around the rom at the rest of the tributes. Who knows? We might even die. Maybe the others will live. Sometimes Careers loose.

I looked up from the table, rolling my eyes at Lero. 'Typical career.' I thought, not really even wanting to be apart of the careers. I slipped out of the chair and walked around the dining hall, stopping to look out a window.

I grit my teeth, listening to the conversation Grant and Lero were having. No doubt Lero was a Career, the very beings I despised. It took all my willpower not to get up and strangle him, right there and right then. He sounded snobby and stuck-up, like all Careers. Why was Grant talking to him? Then, she stiffened when the District 4 boy spoke. Real shame? That's all he was going to say? He didn't even care they were all being sent off to be slaughtered?! I composed myself and turned around, flashing a smile at both boys, revealing dazzling white teeth. My smile was too sweet, but full of coldness. "It is a real shame, Grant. A real shame that you seem to agree with a Career. A real shame that the Capitol is so sick that they enjoy watching young children be slaughtered yearly. It is a real shame!" Of course, my voice was low, so the cameras couldn't pick up my words, but full of ice and my storm grey eyes fixed a glare on both of them.

Grant sighed, shaking his head at Jossyln's comment. "Jossylyn, you don't understand. It's not like tha-" He cut himself off with a sigh, crossing his arms. "Nevermind...just... nevermind." He didn't need her approval. He knew what his real means were. What he would have said, truthfully, Yeah, it's definetly not a shame. It's downright mental and horrible. I hate the Games, I mean, who wants kids to die? Obviously, the Capitol, and they're derranged. I hate the Games, I hate the Capitol. They're mental, demeaning, belittling, hideous, rude, ghastardly, wretched, deadly, bloodthirsty people. I wish we could put the entire Capitol into the Games and see how they do. Dead in the first day, no doubt. He glared back at Josslyn for a moment, shaking his head, His sea green eyes said, 'You don't understand.'
