Chapter 1

First hunt

Shade looked at his companions: his twin Sable: a dark brown haired elf maid with brown eyes, Rainfrost and Ravenfrost: two raven haired twins with blue eyes, Storm: a black hair elf with gray eyes, Lakestorm: an elf with blue eyes and black hair, Dawn and Dusk: the second set of twins these ones with mousey brown hair and hazel eyes ,Nymph: an elf maid around his age with black hair, flashing blue eyes and smooth light brown colored skin and his crush and Current his older brother who had gray eyes, black hair and light brown skin.
They numbered ten, two more than normal for a hunter group but their goal was harder as well. Their job was to assassinate five assassin spies in the Knight academy. Shade wondered what joker had named the assignment assassinate the assassins.
“Form the battle meld” growled Lakestorm, whom was the party leader. Shade reached out with his mind to the other eight members of his group and felt their minds reaching back out to him, in his head they all appear to be colored streaks; the steaks would change with their moods.
Lakestorm`s color was a commanding shade of gray and Rainfrost`s was a calm light blue. Current`s color was a dark green reflecting his nervousness, Sable`s color was also dark green and Shade would bet his appeared dark green to the others.
Shade had only just been chosen as Lakestorm`s apprentice two days ago and was eager to prove him self worthy of his master. He quickly flipped up his hood of his hunter cape in order to hide his face from the knights. Once he was inside the walls he would have to hide from guards in order to complete the assassination.
At the head of the group Lakestorm halted his huge bay stallion and wheeled him around to face them “We are going to split up in order to take the least amount of time. We will leave our horses here. Nymph you’re in charge of distracting the guards” Nymph color flashed the bright blue of pride at that. “Then you can meet up with Rainfrost to assassinate the first spy collect all notes and documents you find in the room. Shade and Sable you will assassinate the second assassin collect all papers and any thing else you find important.”
Sable raised her hand with out looking at her Lakestorm said “yes if you find anything you like you can steal it. Ravenfrost and Currentripple can assassinate the third. Then meet up with me to kill the forth. Nymph and Rainfrost meet up with Shade and Sable to kill the fifth assassin. Then we meet back here with the horses. Storm, Dawn and Dusk you can be the guards. Is everyone clear with what you have to do?” We answered in unison “Sir Yes sir” “Right then of we go” He replied.

Chapter 2

Assassin!

Sable and I hurried to the gates; I could feel the others spreading out in to the crowd entering the gates. Nymph was talking avidly to the guard about horseracing when we entered. I kept expecting some one to cry out a warning looking back now I realize no one could have know anything and hunters where common visitors of this city anyway.
Sable and I ducked in to a alley to get our bearings “ Ok” murmured Sable “we need to follow this alley about a dragon length then turn west and follow that alley way for 2 dragon lengths and then we `ere at the barracks.”
I kept looking over my shoulder, I felt like something at the edge of my eye was watching me. But when I mentioned it to Sable she told him that I was just nervous and being a fool.
Once we reached the heavy metal doors of the academy. We turned right. I counted the steps under my breath “nineteen, twenty, twenty-one” I ran my hand over the stones feeling for a seem to find the door. “The door should be… Ah got it” I said as the door swung open almost hitting Sable in the head, She glared at me she ducked inside.
Sable was finishing a light spell when I entered. Once she finished she smiled at me. “Well” I asked and we started down the corridor. She smiled at me again but her eyes looked behind me.
Suddenly a hand clamped over my mouth, I slammed my back against the wall and was reward with a grunt of pain from the attacker. I repeated the maneuver this time squaring my shoulders and tilting my head back smashing my opponents head against the wall. The attack groaned and slumped to the ground.
I turned towards Sable to see if she had been attacked. She was smiling and…was she laughing? “Oh you should have seen the look on your face’ she laughed, doubling over “oh I hope you didn`t hurt poor Storm too badly. We might need him when we get home”
What, Storm had attacked me! I thought and twisted around to see Storm slumped against the wall, His body limp. “Oh!” I exclaimed and crouched by his side.
Storm groaned and his eyelids fluttered open “Who hit me?” he groaned weakly, propping him self up on one elbow. ‘If I get up will you hit my again?” he asked “try me” I replied, Offering him my hand to help him get up. He grabbed my hand and pulled him self up.
He staggered slightly and I moved to prop him up “Oww how hard did you hit me” he asked “I didn`t hit you. I slammed you against the wall twice” I answered, as we started down the hall.

Storm walked beside Shade as they made there way down the hall, He looked over at Sable. Suddenly they stopped by a oak door set in the stone wall “well this is it” Shade said he turned to Storm “coming” “are you kidding’ Storm replied ‘ I wouldn’t miss it for the world” Sable glared at us “If you don`t mind” she snapped waving her look picks in the air.
The door opened quietly and we slipped in. Sable nodded at the bed and raised her long knife in the air, Shade nodded and Sable crept over to the bed and stabbed the knife down once, twice, three times.
Storm froze what no blood? He thought then the door slammed open and a group of knights stepped in. “AM” he start to yell before a fireball hit him square in the chest and sent him flying across the room to slam against the wall, he hit so hard his head bounced once on the hard stone wall before he crumpled to the ground.
A wave of pain threatened to engulf him but he forced it down and looked up to see a Knight was standing above him with a short sword poised to run him through.
The sword had stared its descent towards his heart when a feral cry ran out and a knife whipped through the air in to the knights throat. The wave of pain surged up and pulled him under, the last thing he heard was the wild shirks of battle.

Chapter 3

Fight!

“AM” Storm shrieked, Sable twisted around eyes wide with shock as Storm sailed past her and slammed in to the wall, He did not get up.
“What the” Sable yelled as she saw the knights surging forward into the room. She twisted around to see Storm about to be run through by a sword, with out thinking she let out a battle cry and threw a knife into the knight’s throat. She spun around again and pulled out two long belt knifes
She squared of with another knight who leapt up at her with both feet extended, knocking her to the ground, she felt her hunter hood come down exposing her face. The knight must have been surprised to see how young she was because he froze in shock.
She jack knifed her body up sending the knight flipping away. Sable staggered to her feet, looking for Shade and Storm. Finally she saw them Shade was supporting Storm and trying to fight off a group of knights at the same time.
Sable ran across the room with another set off daggers at the ready. She stabbed one Knight in the stomach when he over reached try to stab Shade who twisted away slicing another knight across the face. Then stabbed him in the throat and twisted to block a knight who stabbed a knight who tried to back stab Shade for behind.
Once they were fighting back to back again Sable opened her mind to the battle meld. Nymph was heading to meet up with Rainfrost. “Nymph we’ve been ambushed! Get help, warn the others. Wait the last part was unnecessary, the others had heard that. She would have smacked her fore head for stupidity had she not been fighting of a dozen knights. Sable, Sable? Stay put. We`re coming to help. Lakestorm’s voice came through, stretched with worry. Ok I was not going anywhere any way.
Sable ducked under a blade and knifed the knight in the stomach. Back out before he fell on her. The she twisted with her knife held out and drew a straight line across a knight`s face blinding him.
Suddenly the battle cry of the hunters rang out and the rest of patrol swarmed the room. The knights were corned by the bed by blood thirsty hunters. The fight was over.
