I'm from America. c:

I took Spanish for two years (yeah, I know, big deal xD). I am also learning Danish; I am self-learning and some of my friends who live in Denmark are teaching me. ^-^

Hahaha, yeah, I think it's easier to read and write in a language rather than speak or hear it. Maybe it's because in some languages (like french and english) not every word sounds as it is written.

yes but what I do is I say it while writing it with an accent, and that helps me.

Like I write the suffix -ion when I hear a..

"shun" sound in English
"si-on" sound in French
"tsi-owne" sound in in German.

I know when I see a 'sch' in German I have to say 'sh'. When I see a 'é' I know I have to say 'a'.

You just come to learn them, especially if you have already been to that country, because you can get a really good accent. Before going to Normandy on a Exchange, I had a really good accent. But now afterwards, I have a very very realistic accent for french, and my German is understood, but that's because I use a very soft accent (northen) in German.

It really funny cause in German lesson I sometimes do speaking exercises with my friend who lived in south germany until she was 2. she speaks german like 'Ik bin.' (i am in English) but I say the same phrase differently like 'Ihh bin' (i don't say the 'b' strongly like my friend though.)

Yeah but some word like:

women
woman

The "o" sounds different, even it it's the same letter and it's between the same consonants. So it can be a bit confusing.
