You'll need to clean weekly, though, not every two weeks, and usually spot clean every day.

I got Romeo from a pet store, Marlena was also from a pet store, I felt bad for the snake food. Snitch was from a BYB who was operating out of a pet store. I don't suggest getting rats from pet stores, ever, or BYBs. Snitch got very very ill very suddenly and died before we could get him to the vet.

Rosebud was a rescue, but her old owner got her from a pet store, and Louis and Mendel are from the humane society.

Just make sure it is a serious breeder with a good reputation. Some people call themselves breeders, but only breed from pet shop rats. Buying from them is almost as bad as buying from a pet shop, you do not know what is behind them further back.

Yeah, I plan on visiting the rtats they plan on breeding from to see thier temperment and to see if they have any health issues

Health Issues: Just some mites which are easily treated. A bath with rat shampoo and spit on will do the trick.

Are They A Good Pet?: Oh yes Howard is the best. He is complete dope, and loves cuddles. Will just rest in your hood or on your shoulder. He is extremely funn to watch waddling around my room. Howard hasn't got a malicious bone in his body. Vince is slightly more jumpier, but once out will explore and loves little treats like carrot and vegetables. Goes mad for food.

Anything You Want To Share About Them: They are both brothers, around about one year old, grey and White dumbo rats and the first rats I've ever kept. Especially my first indoor pets. My Pygmy hedgehog came after them ^^

Awww, they sound great^^, the only differance between dumbo and standard are just the ears correct? No additional problems come with the ears?

It's only the ears that are different.

Blossom, they need to be treated with ivermectin or revolution, rat shampoo won't do a darn thing.

From my understanding the dumbos tend to be larger and to some extent hardier, as well as the ears, but they can be bred from the same litters from what I've seen. I haven't seen any problems with the ears in either, save that they tend to tear easily. Mijumaru has a notch in her ear that started as a tiny hole.

Well, I dont think weekly... but my mom cleans them, not me.. so.. And plus, I only have two. xD
And they have a big cage. o3o
My mom cleans them with cat shampoo. xD Just for their regular baths, though.
Yeah, I got em from the pet store. :c Poor things. But their still alive, and we got them September of last year.
