Echostorm leaned back, her head cocked. "What are you doing?!" She exlaimed, laughing. "You're weird." She tried to catch him as he rolled around, but he was moving too fast.

Oliveblaze stopped rolling and spread out his legs into a star shape. "I've always had my quirky side." He suddenly remembered their prey.

Echostorm rolled her eyes, letting out a purr of laughter. "I still think you're just crazy." She teased. Suddenly her smile changed to a smirk and she poked his stomach with a paw. "You're dead."

Silversnow padded behind the group silently, listening to the conversation idly.

Suddenly Adderwhisker stopped. They were very near the moving black dots, but he didn't dare go any further. "There are scent markers here," He told Jaystar, "but they're old."

Jaystar took in the scent of the border markers for a while. "Do you think they've abandoned patrols to dance around in strange formations?" he wondered to the patrol. "They must be very superstitious." The smell of the strange cats was earthy and musky, but also faintly airy, like fog.

Oliveblaze stuck his tongue out.

"Perhaps," Adderwhisker replied. "Do we just walk right in?"

Jaystar held his tail in front of the other cats, barring their way. "Let's wait a little bit first."

Silversnow listened intently as she moved closer to the border, sniffing the scent marker that Adderwhisker had scented. Her lip curled as she registered the scent, taking in long breaths and committing it to memory. Lowering her lip again, she turned back to Jaystar and the others and sat, waiting.

Leafdapple breathed in the unfamiliar scent. She watched the dots on the hillside.
