I need some advice!

So, I have my best friend (let's call her J). Me and J have been friends for four years, and we met by a tragedy (her mother had died)
Anyway, so this year she meets a new friend (let's call her C) Me and J have the same taste in friends and we get along with eachothers friends. But then C attatches herself to J like a leach.
C was nice in the beggining, but now she is showing her real side that others have warned me about.
She is rude, annoying, mean, and a attention . She calls me stupid and retarted and many other things I shouln't say when J isn't around.
She pulls J around like a dog and praticly forces her to hang out with her every weekend and date guys that turn out to be jerks.
One time, when I actually got to hang out with J alone, C finds out and comes with us uninvited. J's dad calls and is already mad at her for being late, because she stayed behind for C's sake. C freaks out when J has to leave and yells at her to disrespect her dad and yell at him.
I decided to give her one more chance, until I see her and J's other friend arguing on facebook, and she call's all her friends stupid c***'s.
I really want to stay friends with J, but that means having to deal with C.
I love J, but I'm afriad I will have to make the decision to leave her.
Any advice?

That's not an easy situation to be in.

If C is already having trouble being nice, it shouldn't be long before J starts to see how C actually treats people.

First, if you can, you should try to avoid hanging out with C unless J is there. Second, try to find as much time as you can with J where C is not involved.

C seems to be a bad influence, it might be a good idea just to try and remind J that disrespecting adults, specifically her father, is not a good idea. Although, if C tries arguing with you, just stay calm and ignore her as best you can.

I think I'd try talking to J if I were you, just bring up topics that involve C and try and figure out what J thinks about C and about what C does. That sort of thing. This could be a good time to just mention the way C treats you at times. Whatever you do, avoid arguing with J. It'll just make both of you upset and possibly make the situation worse.

And I don't think ending your friendship with J will help. If your really good friends, losing her won't be worth the benefits of not having C around.

Hopefully this helps, and I imagine the others will have some good suggestions for ya :)

I agree, C ain't a nice person. Maybe you could video tape C when J isn't around and show J the tape. J would finally see what the real C is like. I hope this helped!

That's an awesome idea! Though I'd recommend being discreet about it, 'cause some people don't react well to being video-taped... (I know from personal experience... ehehehe XD)
