"Let me G O! You rancid beast..."
The squirming and thrashing creature, to my surprised, stopped it's madness and spoke in a rather feminine voice for such a hideous being. Rake's eyes widened as he looked at me sharply for what to do, either to put it down or hold onto it tight; and I nodded yes for it's release.
THUD!
It fell onto the brown carpet, landing on it's rump.
"You-" Cursed the animal as she shook her patchy pelt out, releasing a scent of rot. "How could you just throw me round like that?"
"How could you attack Ben!?" Rake spoke up, waving his stick-for-arms up nearly hitting the light fixture.
"Well..." It said huffing and standing up, waltzing around us in a trot. "She came into my territory."
"What happened?" I questioned, looking back and forth between Rake and the beast, my eyes following it as it moved.
"You didn't need to attack, Ben could died." Rake rasped, yanking it up by it's neck tuff. "What are you?"
"LET. ME . GO." It screeched, biting at Rakes wrist as he moved them up to prevent being bit; before he let go of his grip and sent it plopping onto the ground as it did before, with a thud and it falling onto it's rump.
"For your information:" It barked in a lady-like tone. "I am a beautiful young woman. Don't you see my curls?"
"I smell fish," I spoke up, giggling as she looked back sharply towards me and gave me the most god awful look.
"And I smell- well... as I as saying." She caught herself, before cursing. A lady keeps her temper. "Deek; my name is. Charmed, as I am sure."
"I don't see a lady," Questioned Rake. "I see a ugly dog."
"How D A R E you!" Screeched Deek, with a growl in between words, as she lunged forward and slung herself onto Rake, who stood here as if nothing happened and wrestled with her.
"No, no ma'am- calm please-" He rasped as she slurred and cursed at him, Rake obviously not knowing how to deal with such a situation.
So much for a lady keeping her temper.
While watching them go back and forth with insults and pleas to calm down, I sighed and plopped myself onto the bed, looking back, and noticing Tommo still under the bed sheets curled up in the fetal position cringing to himself for dear life.
This is what surprised me.
I gently leaned back and turned over the sheets to reveal Tommo, just laying there; face more pale than the off-white sheets, and stained from tears?
"Whats wrong?" I questioned, honestly confused to the situation as Deek and Rake went on in the background.
"T-That..." He gasped, pointing towards Deek and Rake.
"Honey; its just some kind of Animal. Rake has it handled."
"N-no..." Tommo stuttered. "There's no animal there... or Rake."
I cocked my head, turning around expecting to find something completely different; but to only see Rake and Deek still carrying on, Deek now in a headlock.
"Yes, it to sweetheart."
"No its not!" He yelled, getting frustrated. "Its just two... dark... shadow-y things... just moving."
Turning around to get one more look, with nothing as different as the last time, I gave Tommo a confused look as his wide emerald eyes sparkled with tears of fear. As I was about to reassure him nothing was wrong; a wave of understanding came over me: Ze's gone.
Ze was the only reason he had anything to do with demons or anything of that nature; and that brings me to another thing, Deek wasn't an animal.
"Oh Thomas..." I gasped, bending down to wrap my arms around him, comforting him.
To me; I only saw my goofy and somewhat frightening best friend trying to calm and restrain a annoying and primadonna she-dog or whatever Deek is. To Tommo, what he probably saw was something completely different, and unexplainable and that is what terrified him.
It's the unknown which terrifies, and haunts most people. For Tommo; yes Ze's overbearing and insane personality was freaky.,but now, with no need to see anything of the 'supernatural' nature brings a whole new world of terror. For me; its my future. The unexplainable, which can be tangible or not, creates fear in both you and me, without any doubt. The thing that moves in the night, sliding its self across your window and stirring up fear inside you (which is more than likely Rake), the possibilities of a mad-man who walks your very street nearing your house could do, AIDS; things we can't explain.
"Ben... I think I'm scared..." Tommo squeaked, burring himself under the covers once again.
And that is where I've had enough of this.
