"AAAAAAAA!" Keela shouted, calling all the strength from her body into one fluid motion. Her right arm swung from above her head, holding a glinting, sparkling peace of ice in the shape of a knife. The ice wasn't melting even though it was out in the open air. It didn't give off vapour like normal ice would when taken from a cold temperature to a warm one. It didn’t crackle or break. It was ice. Pure and holy ice. Given to Keera in her dreams to slay the monsters of her nightmares. The knife left her fingers and sliced the air, piercing the heart of evil with the wrath of God Himself. All the hate and anger Keela felt, propelled the knife, leaving her body to serve justice alongside her Master. For He loathed the evil and wickedness that filled His people. Of course, not the people themselves. No, only the actions of those people fill him with displeasement. The people themselves, He loved. He loved with such a passion it was unbearable. Not even the strongest man alive could stay on his feet when shown His love.
A wonderful warmth filled Keera’s heart as the slain evil monster withered away, and the sky peeled back it’s layer of black. The sun shone brightly, soaking the earth with it’s heavenly healing. The grass turned from black to green, the city in the distance filled with bright colours and animals thundered along the ground, finally free. Keela watched all this unfold in an amazing wonder. Nothing, absolutely nothing, could compare to her Maker. To THE Creator. The flames of justice, love, and peace fled through her veins. Licked away all darkness and fear clouding her human mind. Before her very eyes, a tree appeared, growing rapidly from the seed to full maturity. This tree was like nothing she’d ever seen before. All the trees in the Garden were green leaves with a brown trunk and branches. Some bearing fruits, others, flowers. Yet this tree bore nothing but it’s own leaves. Yet, it was more majestic than any other plant in the Garden. The entire tree shimmered, changing Keela’s purple eyes to green, blue, red, then every colour imaginable to the mind. Beside the tree, appeared a being. A body who’s head shone so bright, she could not see it’s face. She knew neither if it was a man or a woman, for when it spoke, it spoke in a multitude of voices. All as clear as glass, yet softer than anything imaginable. The words flowed around her body, lifting her higher and higher till she could see the whole world beneath her. “This, my daughter,” they whispered, “This is my kingdom. These are my people whom I love with all that I am. Tell them. Tell them my anointed one. Tell them of my love.” She become lost in euphoria and everything swirled and shimmered, turning her mind into a haze. She felt herself being carried away. Back to a land which called her name. Back to the world that needed her most. Back to her Master’s kingdom. Back... to Xanyeoka.
Keela awoke with a start, and her breath came in short gasps. She had never had such a vivid dream like that before. Her body shook with the lingering excitement and she looked around her wondering if Kyle had noticed anything. She looked to the spot next to her where he had lain last night, but found no body. She sat up and turned her head in every direction, yet could not see him anywhere. She figured he must have just wandered off somewhere like he did, without telling her, again. Though, he probably didn’t want to wake her, which was sweet of him since she did come in rather late last night. She stood to her feet and stretched, releasing the locked muscles and kinks. Her body felt sort of tight this morning, which came as no surprise considering her dream last night. Her muscles felt as though they were coiled and refused to come undone. No amount of stretching seemed to help. A whisper of a breeze flitted past Keela’s ears. It sifted silently through her open hair and called for her to turn. She obeyed the silent command and turned, surprised to see the pond. Why she was surprised, she had no clue. But she watched as the warm breeze seemed to dance on top of the water. A twirl here, a jump there. Then, it was as if the wind dove into the water, beckoning Keela to follow. Keela wondered for a moment whether or not she might still be dreaming. Maybe it was just perhaps her imagination. Well, whatever the reason my have been, she followed anyway. The water would do wonders with her coiled muscles. Actually, a swim sounded really good right about now. She waded into the pool of water from the shallow end, and stopped right before the drop off where the pond got much deeper. From here she dove as a dolphin might and swam to the bottom. She reached out her right hand, expecting a sandy floor, but was greeted with only more water slipping through her fingers. Her first instinct was to turn back immediately, for something was wrong with this pond. It was never this deep. Yet, where did it go? Her curiosity won and she kept swimming, kicking her feet harder for she was going to lose her breath soon. Her hand still outstretched, she felt no sandy bottom. If she didn’t turn back now, she would be sure to drown for lack of air. It was hear she heard the soft whispering again. “Go,” they said in unison, “Dive deeper my child, for my wonders you will find.” She found this so ludicrous! She was going to die for voices that had no face? “Open your eyes..” She did so immediately wondering if she might meet a shark or eel this far into the pond. But what she seen was no fish, not even dark, murky water or seaweed. But light. And her legs responded immediately by kicking into overdrive. She let the breath out of her lungs and yearned to just open her mouth wide and gulp the air that her lungs needed, but she couldn’t in this water. One last kick, and then Keera was free falling. She had no time to scream for the fall was only a mere drop. And her lungs overpowered her vocal chords for breath. She had landed in the softest grass she’d ever felt. It was like landing in a million feather pillows. It took a few moments for her to catch her breath, only for it to be taken away when she looked up and around her at her surroundings. This?! This had been hidden underneath their Garden?! She inhaled sharply as she stared straight ahead. Right before her very much awakened eyes, stood the tree of her dreams. The entire tree glowed and displayed its wonder for everyone who believed, to see. She stood to her bare feet and slowly stepped forward. She picked up her pace as the tree came closer till she stood directly in front of it. “Woaa,” she breathed. She cautiously lifted her right hand and placed it gently on the trunk of the tree. The shimmering colours brightened under her hand, from an unspoken power. What surprised Keela the most was how utterly smooth the tree was. On normal trees, their bark was rough to the touch, yet this tree was the most smoothest thing one would ever touch. But then again, this tree was nothing of the normal. The softest caress of stirred air brushed against Keela’s left arm. A rustle, then silence. She looked on the ground to her left and there lay nothing other than a piece of paper. Keela became confused for a moment before seeing several more papers falling on the ground. She looked up into the tree and saw that not fruit, nor flowers were growing from its branches, but paper. And an endless stream seemed to be pouring by now as countless pieces of the purest paper poured out of the tree’s branches. Keela couldn’t help but laugh at irony. She started to grab for a paper when as soon as she touched it, a voice sounded in her ear. It was so clear and loud she yanked her arm back and stood up, looking quickly around her. She could have vowed there was someone there. She bent down again, this time a little more cautiously and reached for a paper again. This time when she touched it, her hand stayed glued to the paper while a voice whooshed around her. A deep, kind voice filled with love and warmth washed over her mind. “My child. You’ve come,” the voice said. Keela sucked in more air while her heart pounded. “Yes,” she started shakily. “Yes, I’m here.” She stood with shaky legs and turned, expecting to see a man who might represent her father. The grin on her face faltered when she saw no one. “My child, where do you look? I am right here, beside you.” She knew then that no human was talking, but she was in the presence of her Father from Heaven. She looked down beside her and was surprised to see a pen laying on the ground. Just an ordinary pen all except for its shimmering colours. A pen made from the tree of her dreams? “I have given you a gift my precious daughter. A gift of words,” He said.
“A gift? What do I write?”
“What lays on your heart. Your dreams,” the voice echoed softly.
“My... dreams?..”
Her mind then flooded with an infinite amount of words, which would cause any person to shut down from the overload. Yet here Keela stood, her mind filling and bright. A short gasp, and then the pen was scrawling across the paper as she sank to her knees.
With this pen I write to fight
To fear no more, and wage this war
Transform our hate into a knife
That of which is made of Ice
Transform our anger to its edge
To slay the evil, this I pledge
Provide the will for me to strike
And change Your Kingdom back to light.
Yes, her dream. This was her dream, her hope, her heart. This was her deepest wish. The voice chuckled, and it sent tingles of warmth throughout Keela’s body. “You dream well my child. Go. Fight for our Kingdom.” A roaring wind rushed from the ground and sucked Keela’s breath away, yet again. Her open hair flew with the wind, standing almost straight up on her head. Her head snapped back and she gasped when she saw the whirlpool above her. Just a circle of water extending straight above her head, gathering her into its water. As soon as her whole body got sucked into the whirlpool, she began kicking. She was on her way back to the top level of the Garden. Or was there another level above that yet?? Anything was possible. She expected a long journey to the surface, as it had taken so long for her to reach the bottom before, yet only a few strokes in she could already see the surface. Her head broke through the water and she launched upwards with an arched back taking in a deep breathe. She expected to go under all the way again when the gravity pulled her back down, but her feet landed in the soft sand by the shallow part of the pool. Water channelled down her face and off her body as she walked ashore, yet when she looked at all the papers she somehow mysteriously held, they were all dry. And not the slightest bit wrinkled. The pen, which occupied her other hand, was also dry, and still shimmering. Her arms tingled with an unexplainable power as they held these items and an uncontrollable grin played across Keela’s face at the rush of all that happened so far. At the water’s edge she found her shoes, but not her guards. She looked around expectantly while tying up the leather strings, knowing she had put them close beside her while she slept. “Where did they go?,” she asked herself absentmindedly. “Come,” the voices whispered to her again. “Come, and we will show you.” A brilliant path of light opened before her and it was like the air was drawn towards it. The breeze pulled her forward and she took her first step into forever.
And every once in your l i f e
You w i l l feel
One t r u e moment wo-oo-oa.
So baby o p e n your eyes
And feel it, f e e l it.
