I wake up from my nap and walk down to my mothers room. Oddly I do not hear her coughing now. I step lightly, if she is asleep I do not wish to wake her. I slowly push open the door and walk to her side. I feel her forehead, it's cold! I push her shoulders to wake her but she does not wake. I climb besides her and start crying, now I'm alone! I think miserably to myself. Biting my lip I get up and pack all my metal things to go to the forge and all the kitchen things to go to the bakery. I make my bed then get to the forge, both the forge and the bakery have extra rooms so are like houses so now I owned three living places two of witch got me money. I smiled a little at the thought, then I bite my lip again as I head to the fore with a stack of things. When I get there I set up the bed my father always left there and put up all the crafts before I go home then to the bakery, at the bakery I make up the two beds and tidy up before going back home. My brow sweating from the hard work I sit for a while before heading out to tell people that my mother, the baker woman Kristine, is dead. When I leave I head to all our friends and tell them then I go to the market to spread the news.

I looked up from my book and looked at her confused and watched as she walked out. I stood and put my book away and walked over to the master"What did she say? "I asked him. I knew well that he wasn't one to get upset too easily unless he was in a bad mood or it was something that bad.

Leon was about to help Shadow up, but she had already gotten up before he could do so. He looked over at Alice, sighing lightly. "She asked me if I had ever laughed out loud in front of someone, not caring what anyone thought. I told her that I didn't, and she got all weird, and scurried off." He said, then went to close the doors. He turned back to Alice. "Now, I must speak with you. It isn't a very serious matter, just something personal I want you to do. It involves no one else, so don't speak of it to anyone else." He said, walking towards her. "I want you too keep watch over those two and Cecily as much as possible. Tell me if they seem like they are changing some way, as in personality shifts. Stay inconspicuous, and don't let them know. It just seems that people slowly change when in new surroundings, and I am quite intrigued by the human mind, and would like to have your help in some research. Psychology isn't widely studied, which is disappointing." He said, giving her a smile. "They might think it odd or suspicious if they know what I'm doing, that's why you have to keep it a secret. I was waiting for a change like this to test some theories."

After sleeping for a while, Asher awoke to some commotion going on. He crawled to the "door", and slid it open, carefully climbing out. He wondered what was going on exactly. The only time something like this happened was when a death was announced or an accident happened in the market place. He strolled out of the alley, and made his way further out, through some crowds. He hated the crowds...

Cecily had started cleaning up the plates when her thoughts returned to her. These games that she so cherished...how did she know them so well? How was she so skilled without remembering how she learned? These thoughts swarmed her head again and again. At one point her own questions started to give her a headache. Cecily paused, a frown was upon her face. A frown was rare for a girl like Cecily, or at least the type of girl she was now. Cecily finished her work, and stepped away, still frowning every so slightly. Cecily shook her head from left to right. No, I must not let these thoughts plague me, Cecily scolded herself as she forced a smile and ran back up stairs to find something to entertain herself. She saw Miss Shadow fleeing from the library, and her perky mood returned to her as she skipped over to her newest friend and stopped her in her tracks. "Oh Miss Shadow, if you are done with your talk with master, will you please continue the game with me? We can have a chance to chat, its always nice to know more about good friends." Cecily said with an adorable smile placed across her face delicately.

Jacob was finally over with his patrol. The familiar looking girl had sparked an interest in those old cases. They were very similar to her case. Jacob returned to the office and looked around. Most of the over men had gone out for lunch, or they were after that thief again. Jacob returned to his desk and pulled out a few files. The missing persons files were always growing bigger these days. Skipping over his pondering, Jacob pulled out that file. And just as he had thought, that girl in the market did look exactly like this missing girl. Then Jacob pulled out a few other files located in the same folder. There were other girls, also mysteriously kidnapped. All seemed to have disappeared after a party...very strange indeed. Jacob frowned a bit and then looked over the facts once more. There seemed to be a connection...somewhere, although Jacob couldn't put his finger on it.

I was more than willing to help, I always loved to help the master with things involving research. He was the one who showed me this library and all these books."Sure I'd be happy to"I said smiling and then I looked up and was caught by his amazing eyes making me realize that he was a bit closer than normal. My love for him was growing more and more with each passing day. I was about to blush from looking at his eyes and I wanted to reach up and touch his face. But I knew that wouldn't be appropriate so I held my arm to keep it from moving. His eyes were like a deep mystery pool of purple liquid that were always calling me to dive in and loose all worrys and cares in the world. When I finally broke free of his gaze"um...I shall be on my way now"I say and walk towards the door I had to get a better handle on my feelings before I did something shameful besides I am nothing more than a maid while the master is of noble blood and by law will marry someone of noble blood as well. I sighed silently and then I remember what tomorrow was, is was my birthday witch was also the day I started working for the master. I didn't bother to let everyone know because I really didn't want anyone making a big deal about it. I put my hand on the door knob getting ready to open the door and leave. I was waitig just in case hhad to tell me something else but I was ready to get out"Is that everything?"I ask making sure I was allowed to leave.

Shadow smiled at her how could a girl practically a child make her so happy? "okay darlin' are you done with your chores? Cecily please do call me Shadow." she smiled.

"That's a good girl." Leon said with a smile. As she went to the door, he reached for a book on the shelf, taking it out. He then waved to her in a dismissive fashion. "No, you can leave for now." He said to her, opening the book, scanning through a few pages, then closing it and putting it on the nearby table. "But I'll be leaving soon, I need to get a letter to the post, and pick up our mail. I'll tell you when I leave." He said, traversing further into the shelves, taking out various books and soon returning to stack them on the table.

"Ok, I shall be out back in the garden or with the horses" I say and bow as I leave shutting the door behind me. I walk down the hall and downstairs to the kitchen and out the back door. I walk to the garden and walk around trying to clear my mind.

Cecily smiled pleasantly at her younger friend. It was so nice to have someone to play with. "Of course I am Miss, after I start my chores I never stop until I'm through, although it might take me a while to start them." Cecily said truthfully with a small giggle. Upon Miss Shadow's request, Cecily was quite puzzled. "But, Miss Shadow, you are our guest, and as a servant I show respect by calling you Miss." Cecily then giggled a bit again and clasped her hands together and smiled sweetly. "I would not want to disrespect our honored guest after all." Then she took Shadow's hand and lead her back down to the parlor where they had paused their game. Cecily pulled the cards back out and started to shuffle them. "So Miss Shadow, would you please tell me a little about yourself? Like where you come from, or who you lived with. If its too personal you don't have to answer though." Cecily said with the sweetest nod of understanding.

Leon had placed all books he wanted onthe table by now, equaling about fifteen of them. He checked a gold pocket watch, then went to his room, now donning a jacket. It was black, of medium length with tails and cuffs. The only decorations were the buttons, which were gold. To finish off his outfit, he placed a black tophat on his head, a riding cape around his shoulders, and was off. As he walked out of the building, he snatched up the letter, then went to the stables. While on his way, he noticed Alice. "I'll be leaving now." He called to her. As he entered the stables, he put the letter in hs pocket, and put the tack on the horse himself. He loved riding, so he knew precisely how to do it. He led his white horse out once it was ready, then mounted him. He was his favorite horse, and was a present from his parents only a few months before his mother passed away. He was a bit old, but still proved to be a good riding horse. He went to the gate, making his way down the cobblestone path and towards the city. There was a small expanse of his land before the town, which could be a bit troublesome on foot.
