I smile faintly, extending my arm a bit further towards the mother.
If you want...I can look after your egg, miss. I won't break my promise! I really...I really will love your baby and I'll raise it like it was my own! You can come too, if you don't believe me. I'm just so lonely in my old house all by myself, would you mind coming to keep me company? Even if you won't stay, could you at least come by some time...?
I take a seat beside the mother, laying the food on the ground and stroking her back gently as I speak.

I grab ahold of my shirt and tear some of it off, tying the torn fabric to the red areas.
