I'll have to try and get some newer, more recent ones up.

The pictures are not mine, they were taken by my friend with her phone and then uploaded to facebook.
I'll have to try and get the new ones on soon.

The first one is Civil. She's the chubby, more outgoing one now. She's nommin' on Watermelon :3

Have you ever had a rat?: Yep. I had four rats, three females and a male. The male died for an unknown reason, and we had to give away the others because the apartment we were moving into only allowed cats and dogs. I believe I have photos somewhere, I'll see if I can find them later. c:

Does anybody know a good way to stop biting? Sophie has recently taken to it, and just drew blood a couple of minutes ago.

She tries to bite anything that gets close to the cage, and anybody that sticks anything in there. It's only been recently though, before that she was fine. I don't know what's gotten into her.

Hello all, I'm CurstHart. I own one rat currently (please don't yell at me. His cagemate died, and he was a friend for said rat whose cagemate died.) but will be getting another one soon. The mid-winter show at my 4h is approaching, and hopefully, I can pick up some babies/younger rats for my remaining boy.

I had two hooded males, although one was a hooded variegated. His saddle was in the shape of a capital L. The other one had a more normal saddle, but it was sort of in the shape of a lightning bolt.

Currently, my rat is sitting in my lap, under my laptop. My rats love to sit under there for some reason. He's a himalayan male and his colorpoints are brown. Not sure the exact color - maybe agouti or chocolate.

Has anyone been feeding her through the bars or poking at her while she is in her cage?
How long have you had her?

Rat are not normally prone to biting without a cause.

Make sure to wash your hands before handling her(your hands may smell of some sort of food).
When she does bite, "Squeek" at her. That's a rat's way of saying "Stop I don't like this!"
Do you handle her often, or just leave her in the cage all the time? Rats need at least an hour of play outside of their cage per day.
Are there a lot of loud noises around the cage? They may be spooking her.
