"Yes, it would have. The wolves probably still would have attacked and we might have not escaped then..." Myra rasped softly, closing her eyes again.

Drake sighed, shrugging. He slowly slid down the wall, until he reached the floor, coughing again.

Myra slowly pushed herself off the couch, limping unsteadily to Drake, though she managed to sit beside him without stumbling. She felt dizzy as she closed her eyes again, "Don't you dare blame yourself..." she muttered softly.

"Why not..?" he mumbled, looking over at her. He was having a hard time breathing, his breaths raspy.

"Because no amount of blame can change the past, and feeling guilty over something you didn't know would happen will only make it harder for you..." Myra murmured softly, still keeping her eyes closed despite his gaze, wincing slightly.

Drake listened to her carefully, knowing she was right, but he couldn't help feeling responsible. He remained silent, coughing again.
