Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?:
First and foremost, I absolutely adore this character's markings. Her colors are very soft on my eyes, they're very natural and not just thrown on there. I love the overall natural element of her really, that's what I love. For some reason, it's not something you tend to see anymore. It's all vibrant characters that are unique and stand out. Well, I like her colors and the way she blends in, but at the same time, sticks out.
Besides that, Moka seems like the kind of character I can definitely keep up with. I think it's because of her features that I can more easily ingrain her into a unique and interesting story, and she could definitely make some pretty art. ^-^ Which of course leads me to what I will do for her. As with all my characters, the main thing I love is creating a unique character, something which I see in her. From this she would become a character where I can draw art of, receive art, and of course, write her into stories. Not only that, but her being would allow me to further grow my own current characters, and perhaps some of my friends' characters. :'D I see Moka fitting right in, really (just writing this makes me ready to start thinking up stories and art).
Personality:
Although Moka's blood mixes with that of a wolf's, Moka is 110% German Shepherd Dog. She is incredibly loyal and strong willed, which is needed for being a Search & Rescue K-9. Moka is your average canine protector with above average intelligence. Besides being courageous, faithful, and alert, Moka is a very uplifting canine. Her personality is generally content and optimistic. She loves her job and takes most situations in stride. However, by no means does this imply she simply acts without thinking, quite the opposite. Very little brings her down though. One would not describe her as hyper, but rather simply cheerful.
As everyone else, though, Moka does have flaws. For one, Moka is a bit hesitant around small spaces due to her history. However, through her uncertainty, Moka is sure to always do her best on the job by reassuring herself that she would not be left behind. In those sticky situations, although under pressure, Moka is rather calm, if only a bit rushed sometimes. During these times, Moka is careful with her thoughts and reasoning. She is very collective and always seeming to be moving around. She is careful to use her wits and intelligence to do her job in the very best, and it is during these times that one may find that Moka is perfectly capable without her handler.
Aside from her job, Moka is a great friend to have. Once she has a secret, she takes it to the grave 'lest it be the best for all parties. Moka is a canine someone could trust, and she is careful to keep everyone happy. These aspects make her a character that easily befriends others, but she is quite alert and is careful who she makes friends with. However, overall, Moka is a friendly canine whom is dedicated to her job. She is someone that is willing to live, learn, and love.
History:
It is earlier noted that Moka is a mix between a timber wolf and a German Shepherd Dog, but Moka was not actually born in captivity, but in the wild. Her mother, the German Shepherd Dog, had gotten away from her owners one day. During this escape, she had met Moka's father, a timber wolf. The beginning of her life is less important to her than the future, and Moka hardly remembers it. Like any other canine, she was born in the late spring with two brothers and a sister. She looked more like a German Shepherd, but her heart was as wild as a wolf.
Moka loved the outdoors, but she could be quite the rebel sometimes. It is this trait that brought her to the humans. One day during the summer, as she was only a few months old, Moka had decided to wander out, further than she was supposed to. It was this that resulted in a human to call the humane shelter. Moka did have the traits of a German Shepherd Dog, though, and because of this, she was fearless to humans. In actuality, she was rather curious, but the humans were new to her. Still, Moka took it in stride.
The canine was a little unsure at first, but with a few friendly coaxing, Moka was soon on her way to the animal shelter. She tolerated the new creatures, and was a bit curious at them considering they did not harm her. In the beginning, she actually liked it. She enjoyed meeting the new canines, creatures, smells, and anything and everything. However, as soon as she realized she could not explore where she wanted, Moka began to hate the animal shelter.
It was here she stayed for about a year. The tight space left her slightly claustrophobic and a bit on the wild side. Those that were interested left her alone, partly due to her excitement and partly due to her being part wolf.
However, it was a mild winter that she met her future handler, Katie. By then, Moka had lost a bit of her enthusiasm and turned to more of a thinker. It was this transformation that made her noticed, which in turn, allowed her to be a candidate for a K-9 Police Dog. Soon enough, she was taken from the shelter and given a home. However, soon, Moka had been put to the test when training for becoming a K-9 for the police force began.
At first, it was quite easy. Moka was eager to learn and please in order to stay away from the shelter. It was this determination that got her as far as she did. However, Moka just didn't seem the type of dog the police force needed. Although Moka had intelligence and strength, she lacked the control needed for a canine dog. Her willingness to please and her natural instinct pushed against each other and it cost her the chance to work on the team.
Although Moka was disappointed of herself, her enthusiasm came back to her when Katie put her in for search and rescue. Moka's intelligence, fearlessness, and determination helped her get through to what she loved to do today. The work was tough, and in the beginning, the German Shepherd Dog was too disappointed in herself. She was sad and unmotivated. However, Katie loved Moka, and she loved her job. In time, with enough love and persuasion, Moka finally realized she had a chance and took it.
In present day, Moka and Katie are currently working in the Search & Rescue K-9 Mountain Unit of the police force in Alpe d'Huez, France. Moka has mellowed down, but she better understands her importance now and she takes her job seriously. With the founding of a new life and purpose, Moka has never been happier.
