"Wish I was as lucky," Vira sighed. "That's how I got this," She guestured to her cheek before continuing. "It's always been like this ever since my grandmother died. Don't have enough money to get food, so I have to steal. Orphanage won't take a fifteen year old." She laughed bitterly as she gazed down at her scuffed shoes. "I hate it though and I hate the hunters. They're the reason I'm an orphan. They killed my grandmother."

"Yeah she was, but she knew too much apparently." Vira sighed. "My grandmother knew shapeshifters since she was a little girl. The hunter's wanted that information but she wouldn't give it to them. So they decided to kill her off when they found her." Vira's eyes wandered away so Max wouldn't see her cry. She hated crying but she could still remember the blood, and the pain she'd felt when one of the hunters had knocked her down. That had been 3 years ago.

Vira gave a small emotionless chuckle but was silent for a moment. She roughly wiped away her tears with the back of her hand before glancing upwards. The sky wasn't dark anymore, at least to her it wasn't.

Max looked up to and accidentally shifted halfway. His green eyes scanned the sky looking at all the birds he could guess some were shifters. He sighed then shifted all the way.

Vira looked back at Max and was surprised to see a wolf for a moment or two before she grinned. "It must be nice," She commented softly as she gazed at his bright colored fur.
