RULES
There seems to be a lot of things happening lately that I need to control. Please follow these rules.
•Remember the CS Rules
•NO medical advice. The only medical advice you can give is to take the pet to a vet or how to keep it healthy (like what to feed it, where to house it, etc.)
•Be nice! If you feel like someone is being rude to you, just don't respond. You can report the post if you have to. Please don't be mean back, we don't want any fights starting.
•This topic is about REPTILES. Not about dogs and fish. Please stay on topic. (Lizard like amphibians is ok, go to bottom to see more)
•It is okay to give advice to other user about what pet to get. But please don't force them out of it. It is their choice not yours, so respect their decision.
Thanks!

I would suggest a leopard gecko to anyone who is thinking of getting a new reptile. They make great pets and dont smell or bite. (or make noise)
Here is a little FAQ about leopard geckos, if you are new to them or are thinking about getting one.
Are they easy to care for?
Yes! they are not much work.
What do they eat?
Crickets or mealworms. I would suggest mealworms because they dont make noise and they dont smell.
How often do I feed them?
I feed mine once in the morning and once at night. I give him 6 a day, but I would suggest more for an adult.
What do they need in their cage?
I would suggest a 10-20 gallon tank with a lid. You can use a wide variety of materials for bedding. I wouldnt suggest sand because they can eat it and get sick. I use a reptile mat. Its just a piece of carpet that you can rinse out when its dirty. You will need a heating pad (you can also get a red heating lamp too if you want). They need a little hut to hide in. A food and water dish too. It should be kept in an area that is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit all the time (21 Celsius)
How do you clean their cage?
Geckos tend to do their 'business' in one side of the cage. Once you can tell where they go, you can just put paper towels there and clean those up whenever. Change its water every day or so and spray its tank with warmish water. If you use reptile carpet, just rinse it out. (it dries quick)
What if my gecko is shedding?
If your gecko turns white, dont worry, its not dying!! It is about to shed. If it starts to shed its skin, just leave it alone for about a day and keep its tank moist. If after a day or so there is still some stuck to its feet or head, you can help it my placing it in a warm wet container and then help it a bit. If it is still having problems you can post here

How do I hold it?
Gently stroke its back so it gets used to you. Dont go in too fast or you will scare it!! Then carefully slide you hand under it and pick it up.
POSTING ABOUT OTHER ANIMALS: Talking about reptiles and amphibians (newt/salamander) is 100% okay! If you just got a kitty or puppy, maybe a bird, its fine to announce it, but dont get super off topic. If your dog ate your lizard, that is still on topic, just dont start talking about your dog eating a fish or potato chips.
If you would like to add anything just tell me
