Re: Trick Training Challenge! Week One tricks are up!

I'm excited to see so many people giving this a try. :D Since a few people seem to know both of this weeks tricks already I've decided that each week I'll add a "bonus" trick (think of it like extra credit in school), it will be more advanced than either of the weeks regular tricks.

With that said, this weeks bonus trick is up!

This is such a fun idea. My three dogs will probably already know everything but I'm getting a new bird-dog this week so I will deffinatly be doing this with him!

It will be a great way to keep me motivated in training him and I'm going to work with my other dogs on "say your prayers" :3

I <3 how the dog in the how-to video looks under the prop to get the treat XD

I started teaching Molly to 'shake' half an hour ago. :3. I suppose she is doing okay, but she can't lift up her paw without my urging her too.

I'll post a video in a couple of mins.

Feel free to work the tricks in a way that would be easier for your dog. :) We'd love to have you!

Jameson, may I ask what kind of puppy you are getting? We just lost our 13 year old german shorthair who we used on pheasants! We're working on say your prayers here too.

Woof, Molly is doing great. :D I'm sure in a few more sessions she'll be offering you her paw. It took Cara a bit to figure out that she had to lift her paw up.

Thanks. Should I try something in particular to get her to learn the trick faster, or easier?

He's not going to be a puppy. He's a 2 year old English Pointer that was returned to the breeder because he "wouldn't listen". The breeder said though his original owners most likely hit him and used a shock collar inappropriately on him. He lived in an outside kennel his whole life and he's not house trained, leash trained or anything. He doesn't even have a name beyond "dog". :/
Pointers are big people pleasers though so I think I'll have him turned around in a matter of weeks.

My GSH Scholtz passed on earlier this year aswell. -.-
I'm terribly found of Hound and Pointing breeds though. That's all I have and all I ever plan to have. XD
