Viletta watched the guy run off in disgust and sighed, when was that nice fella gonna stitch her up? Pushing her hair out of her eyes, she continued to press the towel to her broken skin. Thats when she saw the smoke clouding over the little town. ''looks like theres a fire in town!'' she reported to the guy in the house,not sure if he heard her. ''my, it looks like a big one'' Viletta murmured to herself, ''ain't ya glad we left when we did Chestnut?'' she asked her horse and pet his nose.

Emerald looked out the window, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, when the town started getting loud. She could see smoke floating throat the air, and it wasn't long till it started burning her throat and lungs and making her eyes water. "Fire!" people shouted. She quickly dug a few coins out of her pocket and slammed them on the counter before grabbing her food and running out. With a quick look around she located the fire. "What the..." She didn't bother to finish her sentence. Leaving Diablo tied outside the store, she ran over to the fire to see if she could help. The smoke soon became to much for her though so she had to back up and stop coughing her lungs out. She shook her head. Nothing she could do. What they needed down here was a good old rain storm, but none of them were coming anytime soon unfortunately. She just stood back and watched, as most of the other townspeople were doing.

William O'Hara glanced at Bullet and growled angrily when he saw that the man was not yet saddled up. "Get going!" he snapped. "We don't have all day; I want to be back here with recruits before noon." He jammed his hat onto his head and stroked his mare's neck; she was getting up in years, and it was about time he found another horse. He didn't want to get rid of her, of course, since she had been with him ever since his first big robbery, but he didn't think he could stand to see her break a leg or get shot in a chase. "I suppose it would be rather amusing if I returned you to your original owner," he told her quietly, and chuckled. That would be ironic, wouldn't it? William had stolen the mare during a cattle rustling ten some years back, and she had been with him ever since. She'd be well cared for if he returned her, or so he hoped.

Thomas walked out. "Fire?" he said looking up and seeing the smoke rising from the town. "Here, before I run off to see what the problem is, let me stitch you up." he said as he sat on the stool and took out the needle and string. Carefully he threaded it before beginning sewing the wound up. His fingers were quick and after only a few minutes he was done and cutting off the excess string. "How'd you get that nasty wound anyways?" he asked, wiping her blood off of his hands on a towl.

Viletta sat still and winced a little as the guy stitched her cut. When he cut the string, Viletta stood up and turned to him to say 'thank you' but was thrown off a bit by his question. "well...Ya see, my folks kinda have me arranged with a guy I don't like. He's a drunk and got in a fight wit' me after I told him that he shouldn' drink before dinner." She sighed and sat back on the porch, "So now I plan to runaway, 'cause I really don' wanna stay here with that guy" Viletta looked over at Thomas, "Do you have any ideas 'a where I should go?"

Thomas sat back down in his chair, leaning his arms on his knees, his fingers fiddling with the cloth. "I wish I knew somewhere you could go. That situation your in doesn't sound so pleasant. I'm sorry you have to deal with that." he said rubbing the back of his neck while glancing up at her. "I know I'm not too far off from town, but I got a spare room. Your welcome here as long as you'd like."
