Tessa let a smirk settle on her face as she watched the navigator. No weapons; that made everything even easier. All she had to do was move her finger, pull, and the shot would come racing out. She could shoot the infuriating women and be done with her. But then there was the matter of the crew. They would know it was her - she had to come up with an excuse, one that was believable. If she didn't, she'd either be killed her stuck on some deserted island.
"Fitting for you, I think." She paused, her smirk growing. "But I'd rather see you beg. You deserve to die. Everyone deserves to die." She took a step forwards, a small plan forming in her mind.

"You know me better than that, Tessa-Rose," replied Sonja, placing her hands on her hips. "We've been shipmates for years; you know as well as anyone that I beg for nothing, not even my life." She sighed slightly, but it contained less sadness and more... disappointment. "I never thought I'd see you as a mutineer, you know," she said after a few moments of tense silence. "So loyal, so good at what you did. Wasn't that enough for you?" The navigator frowned, and added, "If you're going to kill me, you might as well do it. Monologues never got anyone anywhere." At this point, her death was pretty much imminent; Sonja no longer cared about that so much as she wondered what would happen to Tessa-Rose. There was no way she could make this look like an accident unless... did the gunner think that she could pull off a false suicide? Sonja was pretty sure that nobody would believe that excuse; she had no reason to kill herself, no reason at all. Besides, why would she shoot herself with Tessa-Rose's gun? Her own was back at the farmhouse.

"Good work? I was never valued aboard the Maiden. And I never will be, not while you're around." She hissed, taking another step forwards. "You always went out of your way to make everthing my fault. You've never liked me." Another step. "You've always hated me and my personality. Not for long." Another step. "You will beg. I will see to it." She was standing right in Sonja's face now, the pistol held against the younger women's temple. Tessa's spare hand, her left, shot up an around as she swung it at her head.

Sonja's left hand shot up to grab Tessa-Rose's wrist; there was nothing she could do about the gun against her temple, but she was not about to get a beating along with a gunshot to the head. The navigator growled angrily and said, "I believe that you are wrong, but my beliefs will not stop a bullet." How ironic it was, really; she was born on a farm, and now she was going to die on one. "But both you and I know that I will not beg." Her heart was racing, and she could feel her pulse pounding in the hand that grasped Tessa-Rose's wrist. "Everyone for miles around will heard the gunshot, no matter how well you muffle it," stated the navigator, shutting down her anger as well as she could. "You'll be abandoned on an island, if you're lucky; if you're unlucky, you'll be hanged." She didn't add like your parents, but she was certainly thinking it.

She was thinking it. But the gunner continued to smirk. "Who said I was going to shoot?" She snarled, bringing up her knee forcefully so that it would collide with the navigator. As she did so, she moved to wrench her wrist from Sonja's hand, knowing she had to make this look like something it wasn't. But first, she had to get the navigator on the floor and keep her there.

"Well-" began Sonja, but then the gunner's knee connected with the soft part of her belly, just below her ribs, and she doubled over with a gasp. She kept as tight a hold on Tessa-Rose's wrist as she could, not wanting to be beaten down while she was bent double. "-You are holding a gun," she finished, coughing as she struggled to stand straight again. She didn't know what the gunner was planning, but she did know that it would end in not only death but also disgrace. Sonja could handle death; she could not, however, handle disgrace. If she could force Tessa-Rose to shoot her instead of... whatever else it was she was thinking of doing, the crew would certainly hang her. They'd be better off for it, too; the gunner was a loose cannon, and loose cannons meant trouble. Trouble like a dead navigator, for instance.

"Very observant of you." Tessa chuckled darkly, flipping the gun in had so she was holding the barrel. Licking her teeth, the gunner moved her arm, bringing the handle down on Sonja's head with all the force she could muster, still trying to free her arm from the navigator's grip. She would eliminate the navigator, one way or another. Only then could there be peace. Only then could Tessa be free. Only then could she be respected.

Sonja saw the gunner flip the gun over out of the corner of her eye and knew what was coming next, but she couldn't hardly move fast enough to stop it. The handle of the gun smashed against her skull with such force that it sent flurries of black eddying across her vision. The pain was so great that the navigator instinctively dropped the gunner's wrist to clap the hand against her head. She dropped to one knee and struggled to rise again, knowing that she had made a fatal mistake by letting go of Tessa-Rose. She would not beg, but neither could she get to her feet. She felt blood trickle through her dark blond hair and down the side of her neck, but it was an almost out-of-body experience, as though it were happening to someone else. "Just kill me," she said, keeping her hand against her head as she craned her neck to look up at the gunner. "Why bother toying with my life? We both know where this is going. Get it over with."

Tessa contiued to smirk as she crouched down, tribal-style, by the navigator's head. Her eyes strayed from Sonja's face to the blood and she moved her hand, turning her head and eyeing her work. The smirk increased as she placed the tip of her finger in the wound, the gn flipping once more as she held it by the handle. "I will take as long as I want. Now beg." She ordered, digging her finger further into the wound.
(Ewww. Tessa's one sick person.)

[So, a quick question: who is in the right here? Did Sonja really do all of that stuff, or is it mostly just Tessa-Rose being paranoid?]
"Not on your f+cking life," snarled Sonja, red streaks filtering in through the black haze that lay draped across her vision. "Torture me-" she gasped as Tessa-Rose dug her finger further into the wound, and then spat on the ground and tried her best to continue. "-All you want." Then, trying to jerk away from the gunner, she asked angrily, "Why the hell are you doing this? Why is my humiliation so important to you?" Her right hand was clenched so tightly that her fingernails dug into her palm; she could feel the blood as it dripped along them and down her wrist onto the ground. She could hardly see, and her ears were filled with the erratic pounding of her own pulse. It had to end soon. Any moment now, it would be over. The pain would go away. She could give up soon- but not yet.
