Let's define hypocrisy first: Hypocrisy is the act of persistently pretending to hold beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that one does not actually hold. Hypocrisy is thus a kind of lie.

And if those people say others should give away their pets for much less but don't do it themselves, although they say they believe it should be like that, they are in fact hypocrites.
And I think that's what SnuggleBunny meant.Thank you, that is exactly what I meant

Evene if they have more than one they're not going to fork it over because it's a dream pet. Calling it a dream pet and sending a trade does not make it automatically accepted. People may do what they want with their pets, and if they don't see anything they want they can turn you down and it wouldn't be rude.
It's not hypocritical, it's just the game. You have to work hard to get the pets you want and rarely will someone give it to you for free. If they do it's not genereally when you ask. It's if they are feeling incredibly nice and give it to you.

That said, I agree with wibeke. Helping people doesn't mean beggaring your collection to fulfill the desires of people who say (insert pet here) is their ultimate dream, achieve it, then have another ultimate dream, then another, then another... which I often see happening.
I think it's perfectly fine to want to at least get some decent trading fodder in return for a very rare older pet.. a lot of the time, those people take a significant loss in order to offer a kind trade. I'm happy to try to be kind to people who are polite, but I do still want something out of it, and I don't think that's unreasonable.
You can be kind without demolishing your entire collection, and it's a little harsh to expect people to just hand over things they had to work hard to get in return for not a single thing that would help them replenish the loss, or at least a few things on -their- wishlists too.
