i know what i am saying cause i had a Native American tell me how to find my spirit animal
"The Templars. Lee. The big man, Haytham. They 'as the money. They 'as the power. That's the reason I threw in with 'em. That's the ONLY reason. [...] They paid me so I said yes. Didn't bother to ask who or how or why. Didn't care."

A good amount of the people who are "educating CS" about spirit animals and totems have not the first clue what they're talking about and are, to be honest, completely wrong.

And though I don't think there's an animal more alike me as a maned wolf. They're not wolves, but they're canidae as well. I really can't image any other animal that could be my 'spirit animal'. I honestly don't really care, either. I don't believe in things like that.

Mine is no undoubtedly a fox. When I have had a hard day it comes to me in my dreams.

My signature is very clear that I practice with totems. Turkey Vulture is very important to me and although Kookaburra is a newcomer, s/he is valuable as well.
I think CSers should do outside research on websites geared towards spirit animals and spiritual practices rather than just taking advice from people on here at face value. Because yes, a lot of the advice given out is misleading and just plain wrong.

Then don't read the forums on it.

in dreams, i often see a black cat with green eyes, and he/she likes to walk beside me.... i once had a dream, after a death in my family, that i was in a dark place and my spirit animal's green eyes were shining in the dark. I think its a little wierd that i can clearly see him....
I read somewhere that they show up in dreams often when they can't reach you during your busy lives.
My boyfriend (ironically) says he thinks his is a wolf because ever since he was little, when he'd have nightmares, the same wolf would show up. And as long as he focused on it, he could wake up! I thought that was awesome.

Im honestly not so sure about this but I have to say mine is a cat.
Not only am I often a cat if im an animal in my dreams but I have quality's that seem cat like. A curiosity in everything, random mood swings, a liking for seafood and just sneaking up on things even when I dont mean to. I seem to be more active at night also
Not only that but I seem to make all domestic cats I meet more friendly towards me for whatever reason.
If not my family thinks a raven defines me quite well.
