[Dogs Can Bark]

Plot.

There is a place where people from the ages of 15 - 17 come for help, when everything else in their life goes wrong and their parents have nowhere else to turn. Sometimes the teens even come to the conclusion that they need help, or the law makes them come. It's a place to over come fears that have control of their life, or even reinstill those natural fears that unruly teens lost.

Desert Oasis a camp located in truely the middle of nowhere. It's on a desert-like island, the sand dunes streching for miles untill it reaches a area of plentiful trees and water. In order to get to the island they are brought over by helicopter, most not knowing what might be in store. A week before they come, the students are taught the basics, then are introduced into the village. The village is surrounding a large lake, cabins along the lakeshore. There is two bases for the supervisors, one located at the northwest edge of the oasis, and another at the southern edge. These bases hold the basic supplies that these teens need. One thing that most of them do not like about the camp is that none of the cabins have electricity. They are expected to live of the land.. With the help of the Supervisors. However, they do have running water.

Rules.

1. Make sure to read the plot.
2. All of Tess's rules apply, so if you have not read them, make sure you do.
3. This is a semi-literate to literate roleplay, so keep it just that. Don't join if you can't type more than three sentances per post.
4. Don't make a big deal out of the little things. (Ex: Someone ignores your character.)
5. Be realistic.
6. Keep swearing to a minimum. If you must, star it out. (Ex: *)
7. Remember, these kids don't have weapons, ipods and whatnot. The Supervisors supply clothes along with some food and water, but they must learn to catch food themselves and clean the water themselves. (It's fresh water, by the way.)
8. When out of roleplay, use (([[{{}}]])) <those. (Or any distinct different color, OOC;, etc.)
9. No text talk!
10. I may add more rules, so if you understand this put 6 in your form. ^^
11. Please, no more than 4 characters.
12. BE ACTIVE! I cannot stress this enough, so please be active at least twice a week. Tell me before hand if you are going to be gone or cannot connect for a week. If you are not on for a whole week I will mark you inactive.
13. Limit 2 people per cabin.
14. Do not have two of your own characters in a realationship.
15. Please use proper grammer. (Spell correctly, use proper spacing and punctuation.)
16. Don't be really dramatic, to me a majorly melodramatic roleplayer is no fun.

Name: Gabriel
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: Gabriel is cold hearted and deadly. He rarely thinks of others, and barely even speaks. When he does, he gives a sinister smirk. He builds mental "walls" around his mind to keep others out from understanding what's going on with him. He's cold and unforgiving....on the outside.
History: Gabriel's been to jail multiple times for break-and-entering, and for murders. The first one was an acident...he didn't meant to, but the second he called for self-defence. He won't tell his past. He came here because his parents sent him here to "get his acts straight", but it was all just for show. His parents never loved the low-life at all. So he was sent here to get "help"
Looks: He's startingly handsome, but he has a cold wariness in his face and movements. His hair and eyes are dark, but his skin is rather pale. One of the few peple in camp that was deathly pale. His ares aren't black, but a very dark gray. Usually when he looks upon someone, it unsettles them...makes them want to look down. His dark grey eyes are usually with complete attention and icy hatred, and is always stands as if ready for an attack if someone moves to close. His eyes show a dark, cynical look of amusement. His hair is medium length, that covers his eyes most of the time.

[Moondancer]

Name: Samuel Reeve
Age: 17
Gender: male
Personality: Samuel is a very quiet and withdrawn guy. He tends to prefer being alone as he's never sure how to deal with people. Despite being very sweet in nature and kind to his friends, he finds it hard to get close to people. He loves playing the violin and his violin is one of his most prized posessions. He smokes rather frequently and he has a strong French accent that gets thicker if he gets angry or sad. He can lock away his emotions without a second though, making it hard for people to know what he's thinking or feeling if he doesn't want them to. He suffers from bi-polar disorder, meaning he gets spells of extreme mania, suddenly becoming very energetic and almost insane, not being able to sleep and getting extremely paranoid. That is followed by periods of depression, feeling hopless and withdrawn. These periods can last anything from a few days to a few months.

History: Samuel was born in France to an extremely rich family, with parents who had no time for him. His mother was cold and uncaring and his father considered him worthless. In his time there, he probably had a better relationship with the housekeeper. He grew up, caring as little about his parents as they did about him, and watched with detatchment as his mother slowly slipped into depression. She committed suicide when Samuel was 10, hanging herself. His father seemed to grow to hate him more and more, blaming him for his mother's death. He sent Samuel to string of boarding schools but Samuel always managed to get expelled within the first few weeks. Eventually, he got tired of him and sent him to Desert Oasis

Looks: Samuel is quite tall, around 6"2', but lightly built. He has slightly wavy, ash-blonde hair that falls to just past his ears. He has light hazel coloured eyes with flecks of dark brown. He is handsome, but has a very innocent looking face and seems to be younger than he is. He is quite pale, but not unnaturally so and has a small, jagged scar running across his right cheek.

Name: Nawal
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Personality: Nawal is withdrawn, and hates to talk. She rarely coms out of her cabin, and barely speaks. She's attached to her drawings, and is always cold-hearted. She hates to be told what to do, or being interupted when she speaks. She has mild MPS (Multiple Personality Syndrome), and "detatches" herself from others. She's really intellegent, and very sweet, once you pass the "stranger boundary "she has mentally. If you ask anything to personal, she's "off lieka bullet' getting as far away as she can get, and is very shy.
History: She was beaten as a child, told not to speak and told not to think clearly. Her father always tried to gelp her, but her mother wouldn't allow him to see her as a child. She would come home everyday for school, being thrown into the basement and beaten witha belt by her mother until she'd been placed on the Island. Therefore, that is why she is shy and always flinches when someone goes to hit her or touch her even a tiny bit.
Looks: Nawal has a Florida tan, and has white eyes, but with the dark grey pupils and a black ring around her iris'. Her hair is a dark black, that stops at her shoulders and curls as if she'd had it done not even 10 minutes before. Her face is soft, with no blemishes or achne, or even freckles. Her curves are destinguishing(sp?), as if she were atleast 20. She also has dimples, and looks liek she wears alot of Eyeliner, Mascara and Eye shadow, but she barely ever wears any of that stuff. She has brusies, cuts and gashes all over her arms, legs, back and chest, that show most of the time, if she ever lets anyone see them.

Name: Antonio Romano
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: Antonio keeps to himself quite often, being like most who were sent to the Desert Oasis Camp. He has a very nice personality if you can find it, and can be a great friend. Antonio has a great sense of direction considering that he is blind, and can very well tell what people around him are doing. He does tend to be untrusting, even if he appears to be completely unwary. Most people can hardly tell that he cannot see, because he seems as if he knows exactally what is going on around him. Due to the fact that he had quite a hard history, Antonio sometimes can get very distant from people. Antonio also can be very jittery at times, a downside to having done drugs.
History: Antonio was raised with his parents untill the got in a car crash when he was 12 and died. By then he already gotten into a few mishaps and his eye sight was already quicky getting worse. Mostly for the fact that he refused to wear glasses. After his parents died he went to a foster family, and quickly after he got there Toni got into loads of trouble. He was involved with the wrong croud, and ended up joining a gang. One day someone had something against him and he ended up being shot, earning him a fancy, new, plastic right hip. After that, when he was 16, Antonio went to another foster family. He had a somewhat normal life, having a girlfriend and loads of other friends who knew nearly nothing about his past. When some kids approached him, claiming that he was a ganster, that all crashed down on him. Once again he dove back into bad habits, getting into fights and disputes. And his current foster parents sent him away to another family. Here he didn't listen from the start. One day he found a stray Anatolian Shepherd, it was a mere 6 months old. The pup, which he named Charlie, took to Antonio right away. He brought the dog home, not giving his foster parents a choise whether or not they would keep the dog. Slowly, Antonio became blind and Charlie became more connected to his owner. Charlie watched out for Antonio, and in return, Antonio watched over his dog. They both became overly protective and reliant on eachother to the point his foster parents felt that they should send him to Desert Oasis Camp. Along with the fact that Antonio disobeyed teachers and parents alike, getting into many fights with people.
Looks: Antonio is naturally the slightest bit tan, with black hair with that somewhat emo hairstyle that sweeps over his eyes a bit. His eyes are a vibrant green, but due to being blind they have become a creamy blueish color. Antonio often wears sunglasses, making him seem as if he is not blind. Antonio is quite handsome, whenever he is in a good mood his face lights up and has a natural glow. He is physically fit, because he loves nature and frequently would take walks with Charlie. Toni is around 5'11'', and has quite a few 'battle scars', the most distinct one on his right hip. He has a large tattoo that covers nearly his whole back, it features a skull with a snake slithering through it.

Other: Antonio is one of the only residents allowed to have a pet for the fact that he is blind and Charlie is his 'seeing eye dog' of sorts. And 6. That would be sad if I did not follow my own rules. xD

Gender: Female
Personality: Pilar is a bit conservative when it comes to people she doesn't know, but otherwise can be a social butterfly. She loves new chalenges and if she has her mind set to something she can achive it. Pilar is sweet, and has quite a few odd talents. Just the kind of quirky person that someone needs at least one of in their life.
History: Pilar was adopted at a young age, so looks nothing like her parents, which set her aparts many times. Everything for the most part was normal in her life, even if she knew she was adopted. Pilar kept her last names, so it was more than a sinch for her birth parents to find her. When they did, Pilar was quite scared that her perfect life would be interupted. But this stalk-ish behavior continued and her real parents followed her around, trying to contact her. This drived her insane, and she was always wary. But her adopted parents never knew anything about it. Pilar started to run away for a few weeks every once in a while, and they would find her asleep under a bridge or sitting in an alley. Her adopted parents became worried for their child and sent her to Desert Oasis Camp.
Looks: Pilar is petite, only standing about 5'3'' and weighing around 110 pounds. She is quite thin, due to the lack of food in the times when she'd run away. But over-all she has a cute face, with dark, rich brown eyes and long, wavy, brown hair. Her hair runs down past her shoulders, with streaks of blonde on the top layers. Pilar has her eyebrow pierced, usually with a small silver ring in it.

Gender: Male
Personality: Ryan isn't afraid of saying to much. Infact, he talks alot. He makes friends easily, normaly not having to hate anyone. He's a lady's man, just cracking flirts here and there. He quit smoking about a month ago, making him sometimes edgy. the teen found smoking as an escape. Ryan has feelings, but doesn't let them out alot. For a person who talks alot, he just talks about random things, not how he's feeling or anything.
History: To Ryan, his childhood seemed typical, but it wasn't. His father was relesed from jail when Ryan was 8. ryan, not having met his father, found his jail stories entertaining. He had been in a off and on relatioship with his mother, mad about how she didn't let him do much. So when it came to the time where Ryan's father went for custody over him, Ryan was happy when his father won. But later in life, he wasn't. His father made him leave, leave home and move to a city life. this changed Ryan, the way he acted and what he did. He made the wrong friends, the wrong choices. He began to stay out late,the cop car his usal way home. Ryan was sent to this camp by his step-mom. She was tired of his "out of control" self.
Looks: Ryan comes to about 5"11'. His dirty blonde hair comes to about ear length, mostly covering his dark green eyes.He doesn't have any muscle features to show off, just having enough weight to take care of himself. Ryan has a small tan just enough to seperate him from the emo kids at school, but not enough to put him in the group of kids who go to tanning salons. Also he has a light red spirl tatoo on his left wrist that his friends gave him.

Personality: Elena used to be a stuck up kid. Looking down on others with hate. That was before everything changed. Now she's a quite girl, drowning herself in her own thoughts. She keeps to herself, only seeking help when it's needed. Don't get her wong though, she happy to talk to someone but doesn't seem it as easy as it had been for her. Once she's talked to you for awhile, seems asthough she can trust you she will open up.
History: Elena was happy. But now that her family grew from 5 to 4, she changed slowly. it began with her looks. No more high posh makeup, no high pony tails with some light pink highlights. Then her friends noticed this, and began to gossip about her while she blink and stare at other stuff. Soon, Elena found out and lashed out. She got into fights at school, always so close to getting expeled. One day it went to far, a fight ended up with not two people get hurt but a teacher got involved. Elena moved after this, her personality changed next. She didn't speak to her parents, who were drowning themselves in work to not notice to much. But her little brother noticed. He bugged their mom, saying "Elena is sick, or "She hasn't talked". Her grades went down as she morned her little sister. Her little sister, Jasmine, died in a car crash at age 11. And it was Elena's car, and she was driving. Her mother had enough and scent away, telling her it wasn't her fault that Jasmine died.
Looks: Elena has light brown hair that goes to just past her shoulder. She puts it so her bangs are to a side covering one blue eye. She has a slim figure and small hips.Her skin is a moca brown, like her Native American grandmother. Her ears are percied, but she wears earings rarely just enough so they don't close up. Her eyelashes are long and dark, more features from her grandma.

Personality: Deppressed, Selfless, Cares About others but she doesn't want to. She's built walls to keep other people out. But some how she keeps finding ways to let them in. Though she knows it's not good for her.People can leave whenever they want, even if they don't want to like her parents did when she was a baby


History:When Selene was little she was abused. But not physically. No, emotionally. Everyone told her she was different, in a bad way. That no one would ever care for her. That her parents had committed suicide and abandoned her to get away from her. No one had ever really had a real conversation. You know the pointless small talk, none of that, no one even dared to know why she was different, why she was depressed.(Her parents are dead...).During the school year she lives in an orphanage, where all of the kids never even look at her. The person in charge of the orphanage sends her to this camp every summer. The lady had said it would do her some good. Maybe it would. For she hates to here the other children whisper. "She's different, she's strange, she's the one that causes pain". And every night after hearing that she would cry herself to sleep.

Looks: (Description, not picture.) Long black hair that covers her right eye all the time. Also she has a streak of red going down her black hair. She is very skinny, almost anorexic looing. Though she does mysteriously look beautiful in a way. Her skin is very pale. She has dark green eyes, and usually wears black clothes. But she is not a goth! She wears the clothes to display her emotions.
