Not all hunters shoot them just for the fur or claws some hunt for the meat. And in some areas which is more important, ending a wolfs life humanly and fast or haveing your pets/farm animals killed?

They have certain seasons for hunting so they get a chance at life and to raise an family. Thats so they dont make them go extinct.
And hunters didnt make dinosaurs go extinct and other species just died out.

I doubt the cows are happy when we kill them for food and to wear (leather). So why dont i see any "save the cows" threads? Because they arent as "pretty" or as "sweet" thats why.

Wait you understand the systems? This last part made me laugh so you would rather have a slow painful death from starvation than a quick shot to the head? Rodents are cute anyways and rodents are an evasive species, wolfs can be seen as "disgusting disease carrying creatures" too for some people.

1~There's more than one source of food, and there are simple ways to protect your animals.
2~The number of hunters are increasing, and what's the point of having a family if they're going to die anyways? It's like taking a family and saying that they could grow up and have great lives and about a few months later, after them having children, killing them.
3~I never said we killed the dinosaurs because that would be a stupid comment, and comparing it to this is a bit pointless as well. And I never said that we killed out every last extinct animal, but we still played a part in the extinctions.
4~Cows are actually being bread in farms and arn't normaly running free. I have to do an article on animal abuse and found that people are taking steps to keep the cows from being beaten. Some studies also showed that cows are one of our current causes of polution.
5~not everyone agrees that rodents are 'cute'. And as for the 'disgusting disease carrying creatures' part, is the reason i put it in my own form of quotes.

Where?
Obviously not in all places that host wolves. Many places are now over populated with them.

Seriously? I hunt because it is fun, relaxing, I like being in nature. I could tell you that your hobbies 'kill the world' and to stop doing them, but I don't.

And can you prove that? Over population is when the carrying capacity of a certain area is reached. [All the food is consumed]
Hasn't happened to us.
And even if we are over populated, so what? Nothing can be done about it.
I agree with every thing that nutmeg has said.

6.99 billion people are counted living as of 2012 by the United States Census Bureau. 6.99 billion versus a couple thousand is a little obviously outnumbered. There used to be alot more forests for the animals that 'annoy us' and 'eat our farm animals' but as we began to populate more of the world we needed to remove hundreds of thousands of acres just to build homes and cities. And I already adressed why you hunt, but i do agree that alot of hobbies are also 'killing the world', and It'd just be easyer to deal with one issue at a time. But if killing things is a hobby to that many people, it's no wonder the world is becoming a more dangerous place. Over population is a problem worldwide and actions are being taken. saying 'so what?' sounds like you're saying that because you won't be alive for so long is the reason that you alone arn't taking action. Most people think of their children when they say 'children are our future' and what future would we have if we didn't teach them how to care for our world now?

and no i'm not talking about shooting people, it was an example lol.

@ .Alois Trancy.
Most people will. But there will still be people like us that will remain against it. When people started hunting i'm sure they didn't, and still dont wonder what the world would be like, or would've been like, without the animals that they hunt. Saying that "'If its not endangered, I say go for it", did you think that when you hunt, in a few years what you want to hunt at that point may be non-existant?

Also there are nature preserves that protect the wolfs and other creatures, there are zoos which own wolfs so there isnt a chance of the common grey wolf going extinct anytime soon.

If a species is endangered, the hunting of it is ban.
Simple as that.
Wolves aren't endangered, even over populate.
and those survey things- where'd you hear that from? Not all soures are reliable.
And I agree with nutmeg. It's quite insulting when people oppose what they know nothing of, and comes off as rude.
Hunting isnt 'murder' and we dont shoot every thing in sight.

Van no one said hunters did shoot anything in sight and nor did anyone plan to. But I don't think Moonshadow was being rude whatsoever, she simply was disagreeing with you. Knowing nothing of is much different then having a different opinion. I happen to do my research on hunting and probably most people on this thread do too.

Also there are nature preserves that protect the wolfs and other creatures, there are zoos which own wolfs so there isnt a chance of the common grey wolf going extinct anytime soon.

I have been told this already, and understand that. Some of the huntings of wolves go uncounted, and it'd be easy to kill a wolf when it's not in season if you live, or know someone who lives near wolf-populated areas. I know hunter's dont kill everything.

If a species is endangered, the hunting of it is ban.

People disobey the laws all the time. I understand not all sites are reliable, and i appologize for not citing them. I didn't mean to insult anyone, but rather state my own beliefs. Again, I know they don't shoot everything in sight and never even had said that.

like ourpawprints says.

Yes, but I don't get what that has to do with everyone not hunting wolves.
wolves aren't even endangered, so there is no law to be broken in many areas.

And this is just an interesting question I'd like to ask you that I'm going to steal from someone. xD It was quite an interesting question, and it'd be great if someone who 'opposes' wolf hunting could answer. ^-^ ;;
If there was an animal (other than humans) that was larger, and wolves were their natural prey since this animal had a large apetite... Would you want to kill the animal that ate the wolves?

I mainly only see people that hate wolf hunting. No other animals, just wolves.. I mean, I like wolves, but I dont get why they need to be 'saved' so much if they arent endangered.
